I do recall crafting my own iron tools on spec whenever I wanted and my employees be damned ;)
I guess I really ought to start playing again LOL ;)
Copper, tin and salt are the only things you can mine until you unlock the mine and then you can harvest iron. Bronze is the mid tier crafting of the game.
Ok, here's a real question, do different tiered tools/weapons make any difference in npc prouction? Do tools last longer for higher tiered tools when in npc hands or is an iron pick just as good as a stone pick in the hands of a bot?
Good question lol ! I don't think there is any difference in production. And not sure if the higher spec tools last longer than the stone tools in the hands of npc workers. I just provide them with stone tools & sell the copper/iron tools etc.
Two other variables to take into consideration is the skill and number of workers using the tool. One skill 3 worker will use fewer HP than six skill 10 workers.
The higher tier tools do have a higher durability rating. I felt like my bronze tools were lasting longer than the stone ones for my villagers using them.
They do. It looks like they use the lowest tier first. My stone axes always disappear before my bronze axes.
this way your crafters never will gain skill.
