how to put a rabbit trap
I watched videos on how to set rabbit traps, but in the game I can't find the option for traps when I select Q. There is some other way to make traps, I can't find any way to do it. Someone can help me?

It's under traps and decorations. (Looks like a table)

Interesting, this comes up a lot today.

Here's a quick video (up to date ;) ):

it has to be the guides still out there and the disconnect with the current method.

Maybe this is because the devs changed the look of the circle menu and how things are arrenged there?
I mean, everybody still could try to use their eyes - the trap symbol is pretty obvious even in the main overview of that circle menu, in my opinion...^^
But still, it looks different from what people have seen in videos online.
I noticed that most players noadays tend to "learn" how a game works by watching a bunch of videos they can find online, which might or might not be of any help, instead of just hopping into the game and figure things themselves, which, in my opinion, always is the best approach to get familiar with a game. Just saying...

We are here to give tips and answer questions. I can't tell you the time I've had something right in front of me and just didn't see it.

Thanks for the help. Found it.

How is a trap a piece of furniture OR a decoration? That symbol is meaningless and doesn't resemble anything that the average person would recognize as a trap. The correct place for traps is under the "hunting" category, because that's what it is. Hunting. Not decorating, not furnishing.

The symbol is what it always was. If you try every menu by just exploring them, it would be hard to not understand. When they reorganised the menus, it was just a case of trying every possibility to learn where everything was. I have been fooled by the process to saddle a horse, though, even though I had done it before some weeks earlier. Goldie's quick videos are great for getting over moments of confusion like that.

The horse equipment is tricky! ;D

Traps do have their own category. All traps, including the fishing nets are there. Just like lights have their own or farming. Once you get the general idea and after going there a few times you will find them quickly. Plus, it is not like the options in the Q-menu are endless.

You're able to set a rabbit trap when you made your first steps into the game, so there's no need to unlock anything for this.
Other traps can be unlocked in the survival tech tree once you unlocked the hunting lodge and the fishing hut.

A bit off topic but I feel too lazy to open a new thread:
Is the fish trap (with the utterly expensive linen thread) worth it?

Traps are nice and give me something to do but investing serious resources into something like this doesn't strike me as worth my time.

In my very personal opinion they aren't. Unless you have such an enormous surplus of linen thread that you don't know what else you could use it for.
I, personally, usually only set up the common rabbit trap, the bird trap and the rat trap. The fish traps I don't even unlock, not worth the money. As I said: MY opinion only. ;)

Agree on that one, in my opinion not even the fishing spear and fishing hut is worth it.

Fish meat is pretty useless at the moment. I think there's only one dish needing fish. Regular red meat is much more useful and easier to get.
