Knives (in all tiers) are pretty good since they cost relatively little materials and give plenty of points.
If you are mining for copper and tin, bronze and copper knives are better than stone ones it terms of points
If you are farming a lot of flax and/or have a lot of leather/fur from hunting (both yours and your hunters) then sewing is never a bad idea either and it gets you quite a bit of money from selling the products too.
Cooking gives less points compared to smithing and sewing but since your villagers and yourself are constantly consuming food then having a worker cooking food all year (preferably not roasted meat but better dishes) gives you a decent amount of points as well.
And never forget random quests, not all of them reward you with technology points but those that do give you pretty decent amounts.
