FIsherpeople produce a certain number of fillets per day, based on skill and effort settings. They don't go through a process of actually catching fish, they just conjure ready-to-cook fillets out of thin air (like hunters produce already-sliced meat). If you just want fish for food, this is the best option. If you want whole intact fish for some reason (quests?), you can fish by hand, set up nets, or buy them.
Started a nw game and didn´t even build a fishing hut anymore because it´s total useless if you have some fields, a hunter and a collector. You will have too much food, way too much. No need for fish, tbh.
Yes. Thank You. I understand that now. However your post is not 'in game' where I believe a little clue might keep other new players from wasting hours to figure out it's not me - it's the game, Having those items in the same UI as the Worker info is quite misleading. For this idiot anyway.
If you mean the fishing hut production menu, those are worker tasks to clean fish, should you have any fish that you don't feel like cutting up yourself (not very useful ATM, I agree). The details box at the bottom of each production task tells you what is required; in this case, it specifies the whole fish as input and the fillets as output, and knives as the required tool.
