Insanely GPU Demanding?
Is this game just lacking in optimisation or is there specific settings that will help with the GPU load immensely? I have the game on a range of medium to high settings with one or two things on ultra (like textures) and it's still able to bottleneck a 3080Ti if I look in the wrong direction at 4K. Ark Survival Evolved runs slightly better than this, which is seriously concerning.

I play with a 1060 with ultra setting, ensure you do in fact have the absolute latest driver and that all your files are validated, because I don't experience any of what your describing here.
I'm on a 3070 (MSI Ventus) at 1080p with all settings at ultra getting a steady 60fps - GPU regularly hits power limits but all runs smoothly. If I frame limit to 30 I get no power limit's but the game is sightly jerky when moving.

Display seems to me to have improved markedly in the last couple of updates.

Shadows tend to be what hits high end cards the hardest, try lowering it by one rank.
The difference isn't even that visible but the performance gains are big.

I wish the game would put more load on my GPU... But yeah, from time to time it's lagging a bit behind, there might be a memory leak.
I only noticed it, because I had Vsync on for some reason.

When I had changed some of the (sorry, i have fibromyalgia and I forget things at times), I went let's say low to high level for texture and when I was done, I say that a lot of the clutter was gone, and it was so much more pretty then it was before. I was so amazed.

In earlier releases I found it much better to have vSync on in the Nvidia control panel and off in the game settings but in the latest version I don't see any difference.

I also a few more fps if I lower shading a notch.

1080 nvidia geforce 8gb and runs fine full settings in 4K. I have v-sync enabled and frames limited to 60fps.
