you can sleep in the evenings to pass time, but the days are way too long for me.
at default 3 days per season, i can just get way too much done in a single day, to the point only 1-2 years have passed and i really don't have anything left to do.
Question withdrawn :D
After you are familiar with the game 2 day season seem to work better than 3 day seasons and 1 day seasons seem to be too short.
Dude, how do you have that much free time?! I'm jealous!
to increase the difficulty, i also set workers to require double firewood and food.
that food requirement was difficult in the beginning. especially when my hunter workers become mothers. and it cuts my profits.
i also set the taxes down to 33% because i assumed the dev didn't code it to be dynamic.
for 1 day seasons and 8 workers, my taxes have been nearly $600, even at 33%... that's pretty brutal for early game unless you know how to make money.
in the end, the game becomes about money. berry selling got nerfed. so i started out selling tools. sadly the iron tools are locked deep in the tech tree now. i used to sell potage for money. i still do but i've had to hire many hunters to get the meat demand. the easiest profit is still potage and flax seeds so far for me.
selling the flax seeds allowed me to get ahead of taxes and buy piglets. i am still farming manually, as i doubt the workers will operate properly on 1 day season.
i am glad there is no longer a requirement to chat up workers at the campfires before recruiting them.
one thing i wish the dev would fix - allow players to adjust worker "family" / roommates. because it seems that a 20 age male and 30 age female will not make babies, but they will become a family and later you you find a proper age mate but you can't adjust roommates..
i also still want the tier 1 crappy buildings like pigsty to have a tier 2-3 variant that doesn't constantly need repairs.
