The one I use is just north of & between Branica & Baranica. Personally I don't know where any others are although they do exist. That one is handy for selling tools at either of the 2 villages now that I have a mine & smithy set up there. My actual village is due south on the shore of the river. (Plenty of reeds for 1st build & also clear flattish land without any danger of wolves. Fairly central for all villages.

That´s actually the best one, because there you have enough space for building a smithy, a resource storage and other buildings. Besides, there is water nearby.

There is one south of Lesnica at the western edge of the map, one NE of Hornica, one north of Hornica near a mountain pass and one in the mountains between Hornica and Lesnica. There are some maps around showing you the exact locations.
By the way, a bit SE of the cave in Lesnica there is a clearing in the forest where you can build a nice settlement; you can also build a settlement quite near to the Hornica cave.

Why do you need to build a settlement near to a cave?
It doesn't really matter where the cave is in relation to your settlement, unless you intend to mine there yourself.
The villager you assign as Miner will walk to the mine and while doing so they will be mining all the way from the start of the working day.
Personally, I favour this spot, as it is within easy travel distance to most villages. I chose the mine due south of this location along the route to Hornica.

Well, I usually do the mining myself. Takes a long time until unlocking the mine and in the meantime I have to build my settlement somewhere. Therefore I prefer a building site near a mine.

Check here, under the Cave & Bear location, see where is your nearest cave location and see if there is Pooh is near as well looking for you when nearby.
