Wisent are big, furry, have horns and will headbutt you. They have spawnpoints all over the map and are rather hard to miss.

Wisent are European Wood Bison, common in eastern europe and eurasia during this time period. They were a staple and even the official animal of Poland up until the last one was killed in 1927 and the species became extinct.

As for where, in the game you can find them pretty deep in the woods in a number of places. I usually hunt them SE of Denica, near the base of the mountains

There is a lot of them southwest of Gostovia and Southeast from Denica.
Besides, they are real life animals, native to Poland (which the game's setting is most similar to), called here żubry (and in English "European bisons").

They actually aren't extinct. Only in wild they are (which is separate division from full extiction), but both interwar and postwar Poland put real effort to preserve those animals in reservates and to keep their herds expanding.
Nowadays their main center of living is Białowieża forest, also known as Białowieża national park, in Podlachia next to Belarus' border.

heh learn something knew every day. I only quickly skimmed the wiki so my bad. I had thought bison were native to north america only so I googled it, pretty cool to find out either way
