When the recipe asks for 3 buckets of water, does that mean you have to have 3 buckets and fill them and leave them in the food store? or in the tavern? Or do you somehow give them an empty bucket and let them do the rest? And can you fill the bucket at a water tub or only at the river?

No. It only means three "fillings" of water from a bucket. You can leave them in the food storage and the tavern chest, but in general I would recommend using the food storage. Currently you can also fill buckets at washtubs. Sadly, NPCs cannot (yet) fill water buckets on their own.

No, but you should get the buckets back once they have used all the water. This used to be a major bug, but it should be fixed by now.

Thanks, I was just looking for this. I couldn't remember how many it were exactly and while I'm currently in-game, I'm in the middle of nowhere (without any buckets anywhere in reach).

Just a method I use .... Get milk buckets from the goats (fold), drink them all, fill them up with water, place in TAVERN storage (they won't rot and keeps the food storage cleaner) :

Onion bread is the best since the flour can be made by any grain. Provides 50 nutrition but might take longer to craft, but since it's a "middle-late tier food", hopefully your workers were grinding roasted meat from day 1, and 18 years later they will all be level 5 (ish).

I still don't have the bucket unlocked in the tech tree, so bought a couple. By the time you unlock a bucket, you have so many more things to do than run back and forth carrying water...it's stupid. I know it's still beta, understood. All of my flour is just sitting there because I don't have time to run around with a bucket.

By the way I think it's 3 full buckets for onion flatbread because I have plenty of flour and onions and it says not enough resources (with one bucket). I think 3 buckets is just excessive.

It is three fillings. I just made one to be extra sure. I had one bucket, I made one flatbread with onion, it used three flour, 2 onions and 3 fillings of water. Now I have one bucket with seven fillings left and one delicious onion flatbread.

Do you have the technology unlocked?

Hi. I'm trying to get this technology now, but when I look at the kitchen under the technology tab it isn't there. Seems I saw something like this elsewhere in my technologies. How do I get this?

Oh, I see it now when I have access to the oven in the kitchen. It would be nice if I could have seen it from the Technology tab when I go to knowledge, though. Looks like my productivity isn't high enough to unlock it yet, even though I have the materials.

All recipes are visible in the technology tab. You just have to go to the right building for it. Flatbread with onion is under 'Kitchen II', cause only once you learn the technology for kitchen II, that is when the recipe becomes available.

It's also listed in the knowledge tab, second sub-tab (the chest icon) under consumables. But there you only get a small explanation saying it's made in the oven in the kitchen.
