The requirement to make a stone spear with linen thread is wrong. We should be able to craft twine from sticks and straw, not high-tech thread (so to speak).
Anybody play the game ... Unreal World? (very realistic survival game). Not only can we use our spears to hunt but we can use the spears as ski poles ... :P
well you could use leather instead of linen to secure/pin the head to the spear.
This is a very good point and should be considered by the dev's as a suggestion. Leather strap was a common binding material back then and easily obtainable, even rabbit hide.

They also had materials that acted like glue and would harden as well. Its how they managed composite material building. Could not build re-curve bows without binding materials.
+1 gentlemen ... we found an answer without complaining about the nerf to the wooden spear.
I think we should skip the wooden spear but keep it for emergency purposes. Crafting a stone spear makes more sense in the long run using sensible materials. Kill a harmless rabbit, get the leather, pick up some rocks and cut a tree down then ... NOW we can go after the hostile animals without getting too mauled in the process.
EDIT : or any other leather.
Better not, i will see the game finished and not abadoned for the Reason that a Developer is killed from a Bear or in jail for Killing Guarded Animals.^^

Exactly and iron spears we should be able to fix. So that the hunter pick up the iron point and make a new spear.

From what i remember the vegieable matter was twine. they would need to introduce some simple for of resin/hardener maybe if they want to go that way in the game.
All good and maybe even add a field mace type weapon (stick - stone - leather strip) level 1 or bonded like you said for level 2.
Think that a flail would be what you want there.
