Medieval Dynasty
Needs to be a better way to recover our rep with the king.
When I started the game, I got a few quests. I did not realized they were timed and did not finish them in time. It had not dawned on me to save game before getting quest, at that point. So my King rep is negative 3200. I do quests etc. but it does not dent the rep. There needs to be a way to recover from this. I have been playing awhile now. I have a nice farm, max buildings, tons of farming, one 7 yr old son and a worker. I would love to expand, but can't. I feel like if I quested forever, I could not overcome this detriment. I don't want to restart the game, d/t the crap tons of labor I have put into my place. It was so easy to lose the rep, and very hard to regain it. It is not an even swap.

-3200 is a lot. You only lose a few points for failing quests. Did someone see you steal something?

FYI, you only fail quests when the season changes.

To have reached negative 3200 you must have done a lot wrong. I agree with Sarke there.

At the moment there is no way to recover in-game from this, other than completing quests etc. Outside of it you could use a save editor to give yourself the points.

A way to recover from this in-game somehow would be interesting, though.

Sounds like maybe you haven't been paying your taxes?
Ah, that makes sense. How much DR do you lose for not paying? And do you get it back if you pay late?

I don't think you can get it back D.R. after losing it. It should say "-Dynasty Reputation". Unless you don't pay attention to it, when the season change into the next Spring.

I never stole anything. I didn't know about the season changing and causing the quest to end, till now. I would get my chores done, then go into town to talk to folks. It must have been more quests than I realized. I would get a quest, do something that needed to get done, then plan to go do the quest, but it would end. Like the quests that require you to run out of town to another town. I would have to make sure the farm was ok and I had everything I needed before leaving town. Course now I run everywhere with no problem. I had a rocky start. Was just hoping one day that there would be a way to earn better rep. No biggy. I'm doing fine as it is.

It does not include how to steal or how much to lose when in debt. Cause I've always pay my tax, and make sure to have it ready before hand. There is also tax calculation, I've test it myself. With the screenshots to proof it, it was correct.
If you don't finish a side quest you lose 1 reputation point. It is impossible to have taken 3200 side quests and not finished them. There must have been something else. I also suggest the taxes. Did you pay your taxes to Uniegost each spring, cosmi?

Whenever you do not pay your taxes on time, your dynasty rep will be penalised every season until it is paid in full, including the interest you will have incurred.
That is most likely to have happened in your case, since the penalties for a failed quest or seen to have stolen something are not as severe.
When your dynasty rep falls to -10,000 you will be exiled and it's game over.
You can recover your deficit by accepting and successfully completing many quests. It will take many years.
You have 3 options:
1. Play a very long game to recover what you lost.
2. Roll back to a previous save before you failed to pay your taxes.
3. Start a new game.

Your not doing fine your 1/3 of the way from you being banished from the valley, 3200 means you haven’t paid tax’s ever cause a failed quest is just -1rep and now only way to recover that is complete the chapter quests but even that isn’t gonna help cause you won’t complete chapter 7 at the rate your going so then your left with 2 options restart or do millions of side quests
As of right now, that's a phenomenally huge hole to dig out of and it's probably better to just restart.

Make sure every Spring you're paying taxes.

Well, I'd suggest you to learn as much as possible from your "rocky start" then and start with a new game.
If you do so, try to be a little more attentive, though. There must have been quite a lot going wrong on your side to get that much negative reputation.

I don't agree with other players that there is always only a -1 rep "reward" if you fail a quest. This only counts for the side quests. Within the story quests you really can screw up pretty bad and loose quite a lot reputation if you fail. ;)
Honestly, I see no chance to recover from your bad reputation, unless you continue with the hard way and work your way up, doing nothing more than side quests and prepare to do this for more than 2 generations before you can expect to be on the good side again.

So, once again, starting a new game would be the best idea in my opinion.
Make the best of it and try to do better than before.

And dont forget to do a quicksave (F5) always before you accept any quest. :)

As for the Uniegost questline, my husband messed up with Uniegost III and IV. He failed no. 3 and never got no. 4. He didn't lose any reputation, he is in year fortysomething and his Uniegost is 100 years old now.

As for the chapters, it was my impression that they give you as much time as you need to advance, or can they fail if you don't accomplish them within a certain number of years?

No, I don't think you can fail with the chapters since there is no time limit, as you said.
But with the Uniegost quests, if you fail at Uniegost 2 (where you need to travel all around the map and collect taxes for him) you can get quite a huge impact on your reputation. I failed that quest once and lost 250 reputation.

Well, I still have no idea how you can "earn" such a lot of negative reputation as the OP did.
