Herbalism but no herbal remedies?

I've been waiting for herbalism to be added for a long time, and I was thrilled to see all the new plants we can gather - particularly as they're real plants, and not fantasy plants. Unfortunately, imo, we then get Dungeons & Dragons style potions of healing, stamina, and whatnot.

I was kind of hoping for more realistic options, such as cough medicine, fever medicine, headache medicine, etc. These could all be brewed as teas, mostly using the herbs we now have: birch bark tea for pain relief, plantain poultice for healing, honey and daisy tea for coughs, and so on.

I just think it would help a lot with the immersion. Plus everybody is coughing so much during the winter, you'd think there would be quests to get people something for their ailments besides poisonous mushrooms.

Yes, I agree with you. When the devs said there would be herbalism in 1.0 I thought it would be for medicine too. I thought when they introduced the villagers coughing during the winter, it was a preamble to the update for the herbalist hut. Maybe soon?

I hear you, but If they add medicine dont they have to add disease? The last thing I need is another reason my villagers wont work. LMAO

Potions do seem purely game artefact, like healing with plantain always was. The mechanic does need something to make it playable. Calling them potions seems to detract from the realism a tad.

The potions are edging into Fantasy. It kind of breaks the immersion. Ill take the potion of camouflage and use my potion of night vision and slay it with my poisoned axe,

devs have destroyed the game with final version compared to what the developpment of the game was in EA.
as usual instead of a real immersion, it's now a public game
