You can also buy food at the taverns in the villages. And I agree it would be nice and fun if they had some spare beds for travellers. This has been suggested many times, so let's see if this suggestion makes it into the game :)
this is the worst feature in the game,. we should be able to sleep in the villages
You can't interact with anything in the pre-existing villages (other than the NPCs). When you build your own village, you can sleep and cook in your worker's houses, they don't mind.
And making a campfire is super cheap (16 sticks). You can just put one down whenever you need a nap. Nothing will bother you while you're asleep (the game basically just instantly changes the time).
It's ridiculous that I have to walk all the way back home just to recover my health.
I have always wondered where the recruitable travelers at the campfire sleep.
Though potions that restore health are relatively easy to make once you have the herbalist hut. So for now just carry some with you all the time?
I'm for this too. Would be a nice touch if the Inn's had a room for the night since that's what Inn's do.
But then I thought it was more realistic when the Inn's provided the food as well. Who ever heard of a medieval village with a public kitchen? Come to that, when did villagers not cook their own food...
With the desirable addition of same footprint for upgraded buildings, the old set of Taverns could not follow that, which is why I ended up with 2 taverns in the first place, but it inadvertently gave rise to nicer village design IMHO.
