lol you just needed to increase their trust in you, which you had to do with guys even.
but no you dont need to anymore you just need a certain amount of dynasty points. also if you dont flirt with them at the camp site and just invite them you can't see the affection meter because it becomes replaced with happiness or whatever its called "mood".

I don't think they just "took a woman," though the latter is definitely true. But I doubt there would be this many women roaming the countryside in the middle ages. Most would stay home. Leaving the village you were born in was very uncommon back then.
The point being that it was the father making the call on whether his daughter married the dude, not her. Women could be married off to men they had never met, and they didn't even always have the right to refuse a match their family had made. Whereas in modern days, it doesn't matter how much her dad likes you if the lady isn't interested.
