farming workers?!!! help

can someone help me with the farmers?
i have different fields dedicated and specified for each crop
and the workers will hoe the fields and fertilize them then hoe them again
but they wont plant any seeds?
they have a bag and i have seeds in resource storage and in the barn chests?
why arent they planting the seeds what do i need to do?
i have three farmers and they just stand in the barn all day doing nothing :(

I have my game wife set as a farmer and she is just wandering off back to Gostovia rather than harvesting or doing any work. She has all the tools and resources in the barn and the main storage shed. Not sure why this is? She is definitely set as a farmer not a barnworker.

in management tab have you gone to the field and specified what to grow in each field?
sometimes when you do this if your not careful to save when you exit it goes back to "clear" instead of the crop.

Yea managment tab shows a different crop on each field
It is currently spring so at least some of the crops should be the right season.
Do you have to provide the seeds and the tools? And where do you put them?
Im thinking of destroying the fields aand starting a fresh but if someone could do an idiot proof instructions lol
Im jus baffled cos they will fertilise n all but not do crops

Seeds, fertilizer, and tools (hoe, bag, and possibly sickle/scythe, depending on crop) go in the Resource Storage or in the barn.

Double-check that you have the fields set up in management with the right crops specified.

Also double-check that the crops can be planted in the current season; you could even take a bag and some seeds and see if you can plant a few yourself.
