Hunting

Is it supposed to be this painful with wooden spears? Only animals I can kill is hares and after like full day of hunting I barely had enough meat to feed myself

i did kill a moose with spears only time i got a spear to stick in was in the backside rest time been bouncing off i got the blood damage with one bronze spear and finish her off with 10 spears lol

Wooden spears are the weakest weapon in the game. Once you can use a bow and better arrows, it will get easier. People have said that the animals run too fast, though. Perhaps the cheetah speed can be reduced a little.

i was hoping to get the 4 spear in a animal achimate but with bronze spears bouncing off that not going to happen they do seem little too fast brink your eye they are gone and with no blood trail and no spear you lose them

I managed to kill 1 moose with spears, tho since then i have had no luck ! The animals do seem to head off at warp speed and then dissapear. Even the boar run off now too. The arrows / spears are mostly bouncing off the animals and not penetrating.

Hmm might try getting bow and some basic arrows if that works better than spears lol I managed to get enough hunting development to unlock hunter for my little camp so most of my meat comes from it now.. xD

If you can save up to buy a bow (or craft one yourself), then just do some side quests, those tend to reward large amounts of arrows -- I almost never had to craft my own. A bow will do you much better for hunting than a spear. Just take your time and get headshots.

with bows you still want the good bows and good arrows so you get the bleed out you can find a lot of coin and stuff walking around the map i found 5k in coin so been lucky on that

About animals running away, maybe add stamina for them? like back when humans hunted animals they used to tire them out, humans can go after animals for long times (not running ofc) meanwhile the animals tire themselves fast

That's what I was saying about bow headshots... I did some quests and got some free Iron Arrows, still using a Longbow, and 1 fully charged headshot on small - medium animals (I doubt it kills something bigger like Moose or Bear) but it'll 1shot most others.
Can't flee at lightspeed if they're dead. *taps temple*

I walk all the way to sambor and he don't sell bows anymore lol

I asked vendor for Hunter location and he said there is one in Tutki, granted im not sure if its hunters that sell bows and arrows xD

This is off topic but Carrots seeds says they can be planted in winter, does that mean you can harvest them in spring?

I managed to slay a deer with 1 wooden spear and then chasing it with a stone knife lol
