Nope, wife no longer resets poitns for you. There is a potion you can create that does it now.

this was indeed changed to a potion, it's for those who don't want to be 'forced' to get married in game

Which potion? The potion descriptions are currently bugged (at least in legacy saves), so I can't tell.
