How to kill a bear now?

A year or so ago, it was possible to kill a bear in melee with carefull dodging. But now its seems impossible, theirs attacks hit everything around them in a radius of 3 meters now. And with their machine gun like attack speed they rework racimir into minced meat within seconds. i would need at least 20 Heal potions for a single bear. How are you supposed to kill them? Bow and arrows are no option too, since they run faster then you and you have maybe 2 arrows time before they close in melee.

Okay i tried hit and run with bows, appearently i am actually faster and the bears give up after some distance(maybe half of the stamina bar). This will take ages to kill one.

Try high ground vantage points as well.

With new system it is very difficult. Maybe shoot from far away with copper or bronze arrows and hope the bear bleeds out.

I always took out bears from the furthest range possible, with (lots of) thrown spears or bows and arrows. I think the best strategy is probably to buy some iron arrows and keep refreshing the bleed effect, or maybe try the new poisoned arrows (I know you can buy them from one of the villages north of the river, I forget which one).

i found an empty camp with a a couple of poison arrows on the ground. somewhere towards hornica Used it an a bear from a high advantage point, then as he charged me i fired again and he died. You have to be sneaky,

I built hut foundations ( without walls aso) all over the map as kind of raised hide. You can shoot animals from there or when they climb up the stairs. Kiting them while jumping on and off the foundation.
