Yeah thats what I have been doing lol. Still feels like a poor mans answer. Normal combat and running around with I can handle 1st person np but placing a building when you cant see stuff so well is a little infuriating especially with buildings like the resource storage that is enormous.
It would be nice to be able to place the shadow of the building without having to commit to building or have a building view or something. :))
Yeah I agree with you there. Having any of the above would help so much. Oh well.. I guess I can handle with my mess of a village hehe.
W00t and h00t! Best news I read in a while. But doesn't this mean our Avatars will need a clothing/doll to dress. and/or head/face tool?
+1
Im told its a lot harder to code 3rd person hence why most companies elect to make first person games so I'd be surprised if it happens. Tbf I'd be happy with just 3rd person when building I can handle 1st person otherwise but placing a building which you cant see the ends on is tough.
In saying that I prefer 3rd person so if its gonna happen I'd be extremely happy ;) I just dont see it happening cause of how hard and expensive it is.
No clue about code but I imagine the hardest to do would be the animations of the character model. There is not even one in the menu yet. (Looking forward for the next update :)) )
Edit: I don't think that third person will solve the placing issues. What would solve that would be a lock mode, so that we then can walk around and check before we definitely place the building.
2. I too would love a better way to place buildings. So far I try to use fields to align everything...
3. I too got motion sic at the beginning. But I loved the game, so I just ignored that and guess what: after a while I was fine. My brain just needed a little time to get used to the way you move in the game. It turned out to be no problem.
No cause you have to have camera views from different views of your character. With first person you never need to make any of them you just make some arms and hands and thats it. The camera is fixed and it doesnt change so its a lot easier.
Also yeah maybe that would be a fix I hadnt thought of that tbh would help a lot.
