2. you didn't assign a fruit to the field?
I am positive that the season at least in some cases were right. Regarding 2 I know I can in management set which seed to be used. But then again it depends on season. Must I change these settings to fit the season ?
seeds have season when to be planted, if it's not season for it then the villager will just clean the field but won't plant seed. You can always check your seeds bag to see if they are available to be planted if not you could set up your field with the seeds that could be planted at current season. What I do for my field is as soon as the season changed I check what I could plant then change the set up for fields. Rye and Oat use for animals feed so need lot of them -.- The animals really eat a lot of feeds
Is that the problem here? Not enough workers for the work required.
And covering all the basis, make sure your workers have needed tools for the job and seeds in storage.
1. The field to be assigned (within field management) to a crop that is in season and isn't already fully sewn.
2. Sufficient bags, hoes, fertiliser, seeds (and scythes, if flax/grains need to be harvested field plots assigned to whatever you are trying to get planted).
3. Workers assigned to the barn as farmers.
4. Fields close enough to the assigned barn.
No I have five persons and see them idle in the barn
They do not put fertilizer on a field if you have not assigned a crop type to the field.
If you leave the setting of a field empty in the field part of the management menu, your farmers will only do the clearing work, i.e. convert the landscape into arable land.
Fertilizing and plowing will happen only after you have assigned a crop type, and this will happen regardless of the season.
Once a crop variety is assigned, the field is prepared for sowing, i.e. it is fertilized and plowed.
Then the field workers wait for the right season for the particular fruit variety and sow the seed on the field.
