The Food System needs to change...
So i played the game for some Time and i am really enjoing it. The only thing that really bothers me is the foodsystem. A piece of meat only gives you 6 out of 100 Foodpoints.
That means you have to eat about 15 Pieces of meat to be Full. The same for mushrooms. One mushroom gives 1 Point out of 100. So you have to eat 100! mushrooms to fill your belly.

I think the points should be changed, to be more realistic. Maybe a mushroom from 1 to 5 points and meat from 6 to 15-20 points.

Grow carrots and make stew with the meats and will have plenty of food

A full meal cooked at the pot should be around 30+ points so you have the realistic feel of "3 meals a day".

you are supposed to cook them, high level foods made from them gets better.

plant onions and cabbage whenever you can.

When we start we're very limited in what we can cook/prepare. Early game is more survival. As you grow and skill and start farming then the cooking options (particularly the first tier meat + veggie) and skill tree start expanding solving for that and making food more resourceful.

Yeah, the food system is very bad. A bread roll or just a soup gives you 35-45 points? I hope they fix that soon

How much should it be in your opinion?

Something might change on the food issue. Berries give next to nothing in health and the same with meat and mushrooms. I have been told from the fungus seekers that's there's a certain herb that can be found somewhere in the forest that help's. Don't get caught in the winter with your pants down and no cabin or carrot field or get caught in the twisted sleep mode that made warp drive your ass to some strange place with a freezing agent that causes you to reboot...love beta's.

if your having issues with food, easiest way to get money to buy, is at the first town in the field is 2 sheds, one is always stocked with scythes and other tools, you can enter the shed and pinch em, just make sure theres no villages that can see you prob best to save just before you do, now you cant sell it to the same people in the town you pinched it from, but if you go over the river you can sell it to those guys and make 105 gold per scythe, then go and buy the food from the tavern or what not.

Food is fine. Was annoying at spring at 1st play due to not knowing what to do. But now I could start back up and have it way easier with farming. I haven't farmed yet as I'm on last day of winter. But I will soon.

Believe it or not, In winter its easier to get food. there nothing on the ground that grow but Rocks are way way way easier to spot. So pick them all up, get some stick, make stone axes and sell them at 28gp. you'll get a crap loads of cash in no time and you'll be able to buy all food you need. there is a crap load of deer near the starting village that will give you lotsa food. Make a few spear. hunt for 5 min and get about 16 raw meat plus the 2 rabits you'll caught per day with a single traps. thats +6 raw meat. More than enought for a whole season "3 days"

If you combine with the skill that let you see plants/herb. you'll see a crap load of mushroom/herbs that you can sell or eat. there is absolutely no reason to starve in that game as food is abundant no mather wich season your at.

I never had any issue with food right now. Even less in winter as I mention. I've started my settlement with my 1st inhabitant and got no food issue so far for me nor the inhabitant. Even tho I said you could buy food. i didnt event had to rely to that as I made berries/mushroom provision for the winter. But just letting you guys know just in case your struggling.

Now it should be more easier as my inhabitant is a hunter. Why get the food when they can :p
Altho, too soon to speak on how efficient the inhabitant will be to collect food. as I only have 1 day with this guy. I'll get an other one soon so he can pick up mushroom instead to hunt.

Now I'm a day before spring and I'll be ready to farm. guess I'll have to start selling that food before it spoil.

You have the System not Checked. Roasted Meat need to be Cooked with Onions and it give`s you 25! points. Learn the System. You cant survive with only eating Mushrooms etc.. LEARN IT!

So you get about 4-6 pieces of meat from an entire deer and that doesn't fully satisfy your hunger. Hmm that doesn't seem quite right to me. Maybe make animals spook easier and far less numerous. Pretty sure I cannot eat 3 deer a day.

There are also skills that slow your food and water needs.
