additionally, my whole 3-day summer is rainy...
would be nice, if there would spawn a bit more, when there's a quest with "ah there are way too many rabbits out there"... :(
found 3 rabbits there too, half way done. think i have to split the quest to more days (and seasons :D )
half a dozen foxes in the forest scared me at first, but they seem shy and not very strong.
Trapped rabbits don't count towards the quest, which is what he stated in his OP. I haven't even seen a rabbit outside of catching them in traps so I'm having the same issue with the quest.
But seriously, if a quest says overcrowding etc there "should" be a lot more of the animal you have to kill, not very realistic when you can't find the animal that is causing the problem.. IMO
But you are right, if they say ther are so many, its a problem, there should be masses.
But its not really a Problem in this stadium of the game. I mean, for a alpha-version, it works quite perfect. And all the placeholders (mechanics, texts etc.) are polished later. I trust in te developers.

try walking slowly, and quietly. They are literally everywhere on the map, but just like real life they are wary and easily spooked
