There are 12 days per year. it has taken me, so far, about half an hour per day, so that's about 6 hours of gameplay per year, give or take if it continues at this rate. I'll assume not every day will occupy as much of my time, so let me assume that I'll just want to skip ahead when I'm not busy and take it down to about 4 hours per year.
If the character ages and dies at, say, 40 (there are a lot of conflicting statistics on life expectancy, some higher, some much lower, but I'm taking war out of the equation, which tends to drive that number down, because this guy is smart and avoids war), I'm looking at over EIGHTY HOURS for just the first character's life.
How effing long do you want to play this game?
EDIT: This is not to say I don't support adding options to the game, because I ALWAYS support adding options to every game, regardless of how insignificant the option may be, but I think you may be looking at this particular issue the wrong way. If every season in this game was thirty days like you suggest, and you only spent 20 minutes every day, if you played for ten in game years, you'll have played for FOUR HUNDRED HOURS.
Do you plan on playing this game for 400 hours?
No, there isn't enough time.
When I first started a game I traveled to the first village, and noticed people planting seeds. I went to speak to the first character, and chatted. Turned around walked through the village, and the crop was already up to my knees, and I did absolutely nothing.
@Dev: Please take your cues from games like Your Life is Feudal YO for season lengths.
Yeah they are. Far to short. I'm into my 2nd day, and I have only managed to cut down 4 trees. I had no time to walk around, speak to the town folk, and even explore.
Absolutly right. Days running too fast and the Seasons are too short. There is to low Time, for a good Plan how you build your own Village.
Btw...Hunger and Durst are going too fast down, this Guy is eating more like 2 Pigs, sry but thats true :)
Point is this game isn't allowing you to go about playing it at your own pace.
W.U.R.M Unlimited, LiFYO does this very well as far as seasons are concerned.
Also, how realistic is it if you can have children in this game, and watch your wife give birth in less than 12 days. I mean seriously.
The game as it is now set to the way the seasons are is really pushing people not to enjoy the game but work day in, and day out without rest, without exploration, without anytime to just poke about.
3 Days? No, far to much to fast.
I have been playing these sort of games from WURM Unlimited, LiFYO (just as examples) which treat these things realistically, and makes you feel like you could waste a day or two away fishing.
Maybe it's just me but 3 days just doesn't cut it really.
Way to ignore literally everything of substance and remain willfully closed-minded and bring up an entirely unrelated issue. Are you suggesting crops should take longer to grow or do you want the years to be longer? I'm willing to discuss any issue, no problem, but let's tackle them one at a time.
