Heat map location of where players build their villages (well, most of you)
So, this is may a little bit redundant with the already many threads about the best location to build your little peaceful village, except I try to visualize it.

I gather the location of your village across the valley from several threads listed below. Some of you share the image of actual location so I could pin point the heat map precisely, but the rests are derived from geographical descriptions, so accuracy may vary.

#1. The most frequent spot of choice for your village. But I think most of you build there for your first game and either move to another location or just continue to expand on that spot.

#2. Quite popular spot for "second game location". This is applied to all the heat map you see starting from the second bridge west of Gostovia, along the riverside past the small bridge with that small island.

#3. Never expect anyone to mention that spot before, quite surprising for me.

#4. That is where my village also. Some mention the actual spot varies starting from North of the second bridge west of Gostovia, continue west until a little bridge crossing a creek and a clay deposit.

#5. The crossroads. Not the first location for many of you but that's quite nice location and flat lands.

My village is at #3, loads of resources close by and travelling is not too much of a grind, apart from getting to and back from the northernmost villages

Nice work. My first village was at the red spot east of Gostovia on the north side of the bridge. My second game location is exactly at #2. I also looked really hard at the #4 location. I'm at year 4 on my second game and so far really like the #2 location. Good flat area, close to lots of resources and equidistant to 6 villages.

You should consider overlaying a grid on your map. It'd make it a lot easier for people to discuss locations.

Tried to add grid layer to the map but it turn out to be cumbersome effort. Let's hope the dev team add some positional notation on map so we are no longer using descriptive word to pin point a location. :D

Ya I built at #5 it actually is much nicer then it might seem at first. Lots O running though lol. My kingdom for a horse. :) year 7 here. If I was to start again I'd an early game house close in to the main village for questing before I relocated out to #5. Lots of wood right across the bridge on either side so you don't have to use your inner village trees, and being on the river on 2 side makes for tons of sticks and rocks early game.

First one was other side of the Lake to #3 ... and yes Straw was an issue for a while ... but lots of wood.
Second was just east of #2 near the bridge, which has been great, with the building cap increase I have resource storage near various villages (as well as mine/clay) so short trips for selling.

Ya I though about dropping a places down near the main village and a few others for that reason, as it is now I drop stone camp fires new some of the more remote areas.

My village and outpost are at

Straw has to be fetched until you have a cereal crop going but otherwise it's working well, better when mounts come. Chose it primarily because the hunting around Sambors house is amazing, every creature spawns thereabouts except rabbits dependant on time of day.

I look heavily for #5 for my next game, the amount of flat land is soo tempting and the proximity to 4 villages is worth up to 9000 g of NPC buying power.

I guess there are a lot of wolves right there west of that swamp. Do the wolves still spawn regularly if you put building there?

I never like build close to ai villagers myself so i never even though of #1.

#2 is the best overall due to a good amount of flat ground especially if you build east to west your close to most everything and most of your trees are maple which is a huge boost at the start.

#3 thought about using location and instead of one village putting 4 or 5 smaller ones around the lake only downside is lack of straw at the start and the trees are mostly pine which is alright.

#4 is alright but you have to build east to west and not nearly as flat as #2

#5 Built near here for my latest restart and it is great due to how flat it is you can really make a spread out village that looks good, the downside is most the trees are birch with some pine and very few maple trees.

On a side note has anyone else never gone to Jezerica before i mean i just noticed 60 hours in and i am pretty sure i have ever visited that village before.

Same here.
I built an extra storage at #1 for shorter way to traders in Gostovia and Borowo.
