Hunt The Bear Quest

this is bugged, its the quest were you hunt the bear for a bow in 7 minutes but i looked in all the spots and their is no bear.

I found the bears (actually, they found me) in the hills southeast of the lake that's east of the town of Hornica, but that was 2 days ago so maybe the quest is bugged now.

I did this quest yesterday. As it told me to do "bears near cave or resevoir in SE", I went to the lake area in the SE. I saw some byson (or whatever the game chooses to call them...Kate Winslets?), and avoided them. Next thing I saw was 2 bear. Easy kills by throwing spears at their face.

I have searched the entire map and not one single damn bear this quest is bugged :(

Check cave section on the above Guide, that I've posted. Then go to Quest section. How to make Bear re-spawn. Try that. See if that works. Again, this is a new patch, so not sure. Just try.

Revert back to prior taking the quest. Go out and slaughter a large number of animals and make sure you didn't build an excavation shed near any mine entrance. (some people have reported this causes the bears not to spawn anymore)

this happened to me as well. No bears were spawning until I did an animal cleansing. Pretty sure the animal spawn cap was reached in game and I had to kill a bunch to let bears respawn.

I could very well be wrong but this is what I did to finally get a bear to spawn. search for my post for any other responses or comments on this.

I was doing Alwins quest (hunting bears) and for the life of me I could not find any bears, even following the directions given by Alwin and checking near all the mines. I tried and failed the quest four times. Finally, I read the comment from Blaze1961 about making sure to not have any excavation sheds (for me it was Smithy 1) near a mine entrance. So I destroyed my Smithy building and bam, bears starting spawning again. Not sure if this is a bug or an intentional feature but either way I was able to complete the quest. Thank you Blaze!

Glad you got it! I can't take credit for the help I was just posting what I read from someone else.

animals can and will move around some, especially wolves and pigs but i have seen bears move a decent bit as well

Animals not spawning where you have built is intentional. (And Blaze is a thieving thief and a horrible influence ... but can be very helpful ;D)

There is a single bear in the south west in the middle of a mountain path, roughly in the middle between the lake and the village south west. I always go there when I need a bear.

Use the "Unstuck" Feature after Accepting this Quest, Face South / South West (More South West) Run Straight to the Mining Cave, There will be at least 1 Bear somewhere near the Cave. (Sometimes 2) This Quest can be completed in 30 seconds.

I had built a Mine on the cave in the middle of the map, near the Unstuck point. it prevented bear spawns over the entire map. Once I removed the mine, they were producing way too many rocks anyways, bears started respawning.
