Can't water my crops.

So I need a bucket to water crops or they won't grow, from what I've gathered, because my carrots have been in the ground from halfway through the first day of spring to the end of the second day of summer as seeds, but I can't make a bucket until much further down the tech tree, I can't find a bucket for sale, and the one bucket I found to steal, turned into a water bucket in my inventory and I ate it, bucket and all.

Send help, I'm clearly doing something wrong here.

Hello, I'm on my 7th year here. I've never had to water my crops. The crops change their growth after a season. Either they will be ready to harvest or they will grow into their next stage. They will not grow throughout the season.

You don't need to water your crops.
I guess you missunderstand times for seeding and harvesting.
In the tooltipp you can see for carrots:
Seed them in winter or spring.
Harvest them in summer or fall.

This means:
If you seed them in winter, you can harvest in summer. If you seed them in spring, you'll have to wait until fall before you harvest them.
It's NOT like, seed them in spring and harvest in summer OR winter. It's only the two options which I explained above.

Did you fertilize and plow the field?

Hm...as far as i know you don´t have to water the fields, just wait for the next season. Otherwise there would be some hint wile looking at the ground that water is needed (like fertilizer/seeds info is shown) .

Anyway.....i don´t even have a bucket.

Yes, I really appreciate the little tooltips that tell you what is required next. Make plot > hoe > manure > hoe > seeds is not that hard to remember now that I know about it. My character may be a farmer, but I am not.

Carrots planted in Spring are harvested in the fall. You just have to wait one more day.
