Prices/Economy need work
I am enjoying the game so far, but I have found the experience rather mixed when it comes to gold. I found the berry trick pretty early on and it makes a lot of the early game rather trivial. That needs some work, the fact that even sticks and rocks are worth the minimum of 1 gold is quite silly. Either sticks and stones need to be worthless, or some sort of mechanic needs to be implemented so that really cheap things sell for fractions of a gold (like 5 berries/sticks/rocks must be sold to get 1 gold, 4 won't be accepted).

At the same time though, I got the opposite experience when it came to selling the fruits of my labor. I planted a whole field of Rye and I think I managed to actually lose money. Wore out an entire scythe almost, spent thousands on grains and manure (that just got a price drop at least so that should help a little). After threshing I had a lot of straw and grain... and when I tried to make it into food the price was actually lower then if I just sold the grain. I am finding a lot of recipes that lose money in this manner. Because of the huge markdown on what I sell, it almost always turns out to be better to sell a lot of really cheap things than to combine them into something expensive.

For balance, the devs I think should go through each recipe, add up the sell prices of all the materials, then add a little value based on how far down the tree the crafting recipe is, and then use that to determine the sell price of the product. If the materials require other expendables, like tools and such, the sell prices should also reflect that too.

It does need a ton of work. If you have workers you won't need to buy any tools and stuff. You will just have to figure out other ways to level up your points.

You got a pretty good point actually. But they just recently nerfed the market prices. So, it might be hard for them to adjust again.

It also says in the journal, that the higher the approval of the vendor, the lower the selling price of items he sells to you and the higher the prices for which he buys from you. So I always sell and buy at a vendor with 100% approval. The only things I sell, are cooked food, iron tools and seeds.
