I *think* that would be technically very difficult. Yes you can name a house (it has 'label') so do people, animals etc. Decorative items (wash basins/stands etc) I doubt have 'labels'
You can store things on/in a label so first they need to somehow create something with a label. That may be possible with some sort of sign post. (hence name the village)
Now fast travel man... That is even harder. You now need to store map co-ords that are user generated. (the travel form point)... AND movable in case you move your village.... So every transit man at the villages must also be given that co-ords (that may change by user) so you can get back.... Then those that have several settlements would want to name them... ie North Farm / South Mine... and then they want a travel man there.. Even more complicated co-ords for the travel men..
So with my *OLD* programming knowledge Village names .. possible. Travel man Not Possible. (I was a coder back in the days of Mnemonics, Perl; Fortran; Pascal, DOS). Things are now very different. I am glad I am NOT a developer now with the constraints of what the 'Game Engine'and graphic cards (DX(x)) can or cannot handle.
I'm sure someone out there will know more than I do.. (I stopped learning coding dozens of years ago)
I don't think programming is the issue, but rather that it's worth spending time on for free.
I'd be happy if it was just a marker we put on the map.
The devs have already given us so much, but this is just a suggestion.
If there were a challenge, programmatically, it would be how to handle multiple player wagoners. Of that, I think the real challenge would be the UX/UI: do you put a limit on number of wagoners? if so, how many? if not, what happens with the wagoner's town selection list if the list exceeds the amount of displayable names. Blah, blah, and etc.
Is it worth spending the time to make this addition? If you ask me, YES PLEASE! I mean, if I was being asked.
