i saw in a video that they can do it (and did it without the player wanting it.
they need a hoe, a bag, manure and the conceerning seeds in the chest afaik. and it helps, if you select in the 3rd button on the left side (the farming symbol) when you tell them on which field and which positions you want to have what veggies or crops. don't know if it's absolutely necessary.
I'm also having problems with my innkeeper. Has 7 in crafting, I have the ingredients, but NPC isn't doing anything and the list under the building management where I tell them to do things like Roasted Meat or Potage (using ingredients that I have) says "No Worker".
When you have your bag equipped, press your right mouse button to bring up the bag options. Here you can choose between field and orchard. Click field and all the available seeds in the game will come up. Click on the seeds you want to plant, now the seed is added to your bag. The ones you can't plant in the the season you are in have a yellow cross.
Extraction, Hunting, farming, Diplomacy, Survival, and production.
Hope this helps!
