in game month = year
3 days is fine...
A lifetime is already 200 real hours to achieve... if they went 10 days per season that would equate to 700 real hours per lifetime...
Asside from skyrim, I have never played a game for that long...
last played on 26 Sep
Medieval Dynasty
maybe he finds the gameplay boring and tedious and the seasons to short.
Maybe he is like me. Wanna look at my hours?
Yeah I saw that.. hes only got 1 hour in the game....
Is the progression of years at this pace necessary? Aka what are the year markers when major events should happen by (i.e. recruiting for a village, marriage, and so on).
How many years can you play as your first character before you need an offspring?
I've play quite a few survival games and it seems like I should be much more prepared for my first winter, but a 3 day winter doesn't sound that bad. Would lengthening the winters make this more intense and up the difficulty? Or would it draw out the current game play to the point it wouldn't be as fun?
Thank you for your input.
as stated...
Eventually there will be Dynastys required to have a kid for that extra challenge. I would like days to be extended another 10 minutes though.. personally.
omg.. don;t say sims.... the Devs will start putting out DLCs for everything.... lol
Winter's not currently all that bad in this game, provided you have two pieces of fur clothing (which I think I got mine from the main quest, not entirely sure though). It's simply too short and too warm to be a big deal.
The biggest downside to winter though is that it means tax season is coming, and if you play like I did then you'll owe over 500 coins for your first year. That's currently way too high with the current prices of items unless you choose to abuse the berries or sticks.
By the end of year one, if you already did a playthrough and understand most of the game, you could easily have a decent sized village, be married, and be a good way through the main quests by the end of the first year. However, until prices get fixed, you'll have next to no real income for a couple years without exploiting the berries.
Currently I don't feel as though the passing of the seasons is meaningful enough other than determining which crops you can plant.
Edit: To those saying that lengthening the seasons would raise the amount of play-time before you die of old age and start playing your heir. The simple solution would be to change heirs when your character starts getting too old to keep being the main character. The old you could become an NPC for a few more years but could only efficiently do tasks that are 'easier' on the body than trekking the entire map every day.
