Petition to raise number of days in season to 10
Pretty obvious. 3 days to a season? Rather ridiculous. We should have at least 10.

What are you losing out on by the seasons changing at their current pace?
in game day = month
in game month = year

No..

3 days is fine...

A lifetime is already 200 real hours to achieve... if they went 10 days per season that would equate to 700 real hours per lifetime...

Asside from skyrim, I have never played a game for that long...

No, the game is meant to be played over generations of your family. 3 days per season works well.

How much time have you spent in the game Gideon? 3 days is almost too much time for a season. You can get so much done in a single day! The point of the game is to create a dynasty for your family. And it would take forever to achieve if the seasons were longer. I've got some 70+ hours into the game, and still only in year 8. Would still be first year if the seasons were as long as you're requesting. Play for awhile and you'll see 3 days is plenty.

Play through at least one year, preferably two, then get back to us. After the first year or two, the games gets pretty stale, to the point of you wanting years to go by faster.

maybe he finds the gameplay boring and tedious and the seasons to short.

Maybe he is like me. Wanna look at my hours?

I'm new and I don't mean to offend by my questions:

Is the progression of years at this pace necessary? Aka what are the year markers when major events should happen by (i.e. recruiting for a village, marriage, and so on).

How many years can you play as your first character before you need an offspring?

I've play quite a few survival games and it seems like I should be much more prepared for my first winter, but a 3 day winter doesn't sound that bad. Would lengthening the winters make this more intense and up the difficulty? Or would it draw out the current game play to the point it wouldn't be as fun?

Thank you for your input.

Basically what I'm asking is: is the passage of 1 year not a big deal?

as stated...

The seasons are part of the game system; altering them makes the game broken..

Eventually there will be Dynastys required to have a kid for that extra challenge. I would like days to be extended another 10 minutes though.. personally.

Really i don't know why dev team introduce the term day while is month actually per season. Maybe because they wanted day and night cycle as well but that confuses many players. Don't compare that game with other survivals. Imo just compare it to sims. You would never be able to play your heir and his heir if months goes longer or new months added. It would be nice tho and this is a proposal to dev team as long as your wife stays at home because of pregnancy it would be significant improvement to the game to be able to control her as well with limited activities instead of just sitting inside the house.

Winter's not currently all that bad in this game, provided you have two pieces of fur clothing (which I think I got mine from the main quest, not entirely sure though). It's simply too short and too warm to be a big deal.

The biggest downside to winter though is that it means tax season is coming, and if you play like I did then you'll owe over 500 coins for your first year. That's currently way too high with the current prices of items unless you choose to abuse the berries or sticks.

By the end of year one, if you already did a playthrough and understand most of the game, you could easily have a decent sized village, be married, and be a good way through the main quests by the end of the first year. However, until prices get fixed, you'll have next to no real income for a couple years without exploiting the berries.

Currently I don't feel as though the passing of the seasons is meaningful enough other than determining which crops you can plant.

Edit: To those saying that lengthening the seasons would raise the amount of play-time before you die of old age and start playing your heir. The simple solution would be to change heirs when your character starts getting too old to keep being the main character. The old you could become an NPC for a few more years but could only efficiently do tasks that are 'easier' on the body than trekking the entire map every day.
