Don't recruit women to your farm, besides your wife.
Title is not a troll, its to help you know what you are in for.

If you recruit women to your village, and you have any male workers, they will instantly get married.

Then, if you have the rep, they will instantly pop out a kid.

I had 2 men and 2 women plus me and my wife.

A woman and my wife had a child, I couldn't control the workers pregnancy

Now, I have 2 kids taking population slots, plus 2 women taking population slots, that wont work for 2+years.

I have 2 population slots that wont work for 15 years.

I literally have an entire village to feed, 7 people, but only 3 people working to do it. Plus myself.

Based on how slow the workers work, they are completely useless aside from making stone knives, so its me literally running around doing all the work in my village. Every little bit of it. I am not a land lord, im the serf myself.

this needs fixed asap. this, add more days a season, stop counting children as workers/population till they are fully grown, and lower the price of manure.

The cost of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is expensive, I should know, a bunch of youtubers bullshitted me into getting this game and it cost me 30 bucks.

The moms only take care of kids without working for 2 years, and now maybe during pregnancy if I understand correctly, not 17 years.

dude chill, its an EA game, things will change. and if you dont like it, then dont play. or go to school, learn to make games and make your own game.

"Why won't you just eat ♥♥♥♥ like the rest of us! I mean they put the EA label on it right? That means you have to tolerate poor game design and in fact like it! You must be a kid for wanting the product you bought to be functional!"

this is the 15 year old with moms credit card argument, every single time.

I am a grown ass man with a full time job, this is a side hobby for my days off. I like games like this, though I have never played one that wasn't a huge pile of tedious crap, which probably means I just like the IDEA of these games more then he games themselves. Maybe you should go to school and learn economics. The first rule of that is "never work for free"

I am not a play tester, they are not paying me to fix or report ♥♥♥♥, let alone tolerate anything. I don't have to be patient, I don't have to understand anything, I am a customer that gave money for a product, and if I am displeased with that product, I have every right to voice that opinion. Grow the ♥♥♥♥ up.
No one forced you to buy early access.. Get over yourself.

What you are I will not say. Unlike you, I have a bit of class.

Do you have a population cap in real life? Like, if your wife has a kid, does that mean she stops going to work for two ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years? What about this, when your wife has a kid, does it take up a slot on your farm or can you hire more people to work even with your "reputation" being low?

this is before they had kindergartens bro think alittle and enjoy the time period :)

I happen to know a lot about the time period.

You would strap the baby to your back and keep working. Stopping to take care of the baby as needed, you wouldn't just stop working for 2 years, as you would ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ starve to death.

Once you have 2 workers, one lumberjack and one hunter, your workload is reduced a lot. Tips to have more time doing building and quests:

- Build the houses from stones, they abound now, and stone houses use less firewood.
- Plant crops that take a long time to grow like wheat and beetroots or carrots, less time passed in the fields.
- Your workers don't eat much cooked food, keep what they need per year and sell the rest.
- Plan your trips to the different villages, if you know you'll need manure buy it in advance to save travel time. Obviously, as soon as you unlock it, the pigsty if your main objective.

Sure having babies and new mothers means less workers but only a few jobs are crucial. Don't be shy to go for 2 lumberjacks if logs are too much of a pain at first. hunting is easy and rather fast and the traps are a good source of meat also, check them many time per day.

Overall, we are so used to quick paced games and we tend to try to rush everything, the quests, the growing of a village. Taking it slow is recommended for this one, it's a dynasty game. A hamlet with only a few people for many years to come is ok, let those mothers finish nursing the babies and you get 50% of your workforce back within 2 years. Also, sleeping at night to speed up the seasons is also fine if you have limited time to play.

In the end it's better to relax building and having fun for a limited time then get frustrated at what little you accomplished in your few hours of gameplay. Your son is supposed to take over one day, he might be the one seeing it grow to a proper village, not his father.

all is relative, and they dont starve to death they keep making food for their children and themselfs, just because they dont work what you want them to doesent mean they areent doing anything... or do you think mothers today dont do anything if they stay at home with their children? you have any idea what a housewife does? she aint lazy!

If you think the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ then just stop playing it.
But beside that everything is working fine. The women will work again after 2 years and the kids will even join your village for free! Just build more houses. And if you cant build more houses do some quests to get more Dynasty points.
This game takes a couple of hours/days/months to play. This is not Age of Empires.

I like bee keeping and brewing, that may be great, but without traveling villagers and the ability for the tavern to make a profit, its just another grind.

pottery seems cool also, but they really need to increase the amoutn of villagers you can have with all this stuff you can do.

They don't instantly get married. It only happens if you move a guy and girl into the same house. Just keep putting only guys in a house, or only girls in a house and you'll be fine.

All my worker are female, the stay 2 per each house, the game will tell you to get married after you get your reputation to 1000. Wife & child count towards your population. So that means you lose 2 worker to recruit.
