Bread and buckets are frustrating.
I finally built a tavern and figured I would go make some onion flat bread. One onion flatbread requires 3 buckets of water, 3 flour and 2 onions.
Why does it require such a ridiculous amount of water to begin with? One bucket would be like a good 2-3 liters of water.

Secondly, to make buckets you need wool thread and linen thread. So effectively to efficiently make bread you would need sheep, which require 2500 farm points.

I understand it's early access, but this is just a ridiculous amount of disbalance/poorly thought out design.
I wish the developers would spend a good amount of time working out the balance of these things before adding new things, because currently some parts are just downright impossible to use correctly.

Well, I guess most things will undergo changes, as this was just released into EA. And I agree, the amount of input seems to be excessive. Even if we assume that a bucket holds only a litre. Because, mind you, NOWHERE is said how much fluid goes in there.

The wool thing is quite clear to me. It is made like this so you need to advance on every field. Not simply choose one and speed through the game. THAT would be bad design. And Flat Bread is Tavern II, which is crafting 2500. So the EXACT same amount you need in farming. So, imbalance/bad design where?

I agree I didn't look at that, so that's fair enough, but to slightly counter.
The design for buckets is unlocked together with the cowshed...at 5000 farming points which then is actually imbalanced. Flour is also unlocked at a mere 10 farming points, that's what I mean by inbalance, there's a lot of small things which just don't really make sense.

It's a textual error! The bucket should read "10 of 10 Cups" or something like that.
And recipes should read "3 Cups of water"

So the Bucket actually holds 10 "cups" of water (or 10 sips, or whatever) Like the Water Skin holds 4 of 4 "sips" of water.

Point taken. While I guess some of those thing will get sorted by the time, I too had a really, really hard time to understand why I can create flour within the first season, only to then do nothing at all with it until waaaaay later.

And might you shed some light where your knowledge actually comes from? You say that as if you knew for sure...

I just confirmed what he said, the bucket of water acts as 10 buckets in the baking menu, which makes me a happy camper as I can actually make bread this way.

Because I've built the Tavern II and tested it in game. If you fill a bucket, it moves into the "food" slot, and shows 10/10 - Making a bread or such will remove the required amount from the bucket.

BTW, if you're open to a little larceny, there are several "free" buckets in Gostovo which you can "acquire" after dark if you're careful.

At this stage in game u dont need that fancy food. Your villagers are content with just meat and vegies. Later in game when u build a large settlement to qualify for City building right u'll need to raise your villagers happiness high, thats when u will need fancy foods

Btw, if your tavern keeper makes the bread. Where are the empty buckets?
