Game Crashes due to Monitor/PC going to sleep.
The game doesn't prevent the system or monitor from going to sleep. This definitely should be addressed. If you gotta take care of some "business" for a few min and gonna be away long enough for your monitor or system to go into sleep mode, come back to wake the system up and the game crashes. I prefer not to have to keep on adjusting my power settings just because I'm playing a game. Or is this just me?

Why do you have set it to sleep, just turn it off when you're not using the monitor/pc and when you play games/use the pc you set it to max and always on.
For example only on PSVita crops up your issue, it annoys me when stupid sleep options don't allow me to watch videos without having to touch the screen or buttons so that it wouldn't think I was not using it.

I'm sure you are not alone in still having sleep mode enabled in this day and age, but its rare enough I dont remember the last time someone mentioned they did in the past decade...or two.

I don't know why you have sleep mode enabled. If you only have to go afk for a few minutes the power saved will be abyssmal, and if you are going for much longer it is better to shut the pc down instead.

Boot up times are virtually non-existent these days.

some TVs do have auto sleep enabled if it doesnt see much remote action... not sure if its a bug or a feature and is more evident in OLED TVs to probably prevent burn ins

it could also mean your GPU is crashing causing the GPU driver to crash

Well that's for TV's, and it's good for 'em for that exact reason. But for monitors it's pointless, "unless" you don't turn off your pc, but that would make the point moot why have sleep mode for monitor on in the first place.

I tried to replicate and it doesnt seem to crash for me? Using a laptop though, may have some factor in it or sth.

Doesn't crash on my laptop sleep, need further investigation on your end.

Auto-sleep monitor should have zero effect on any program running on your PC.

Auto-sleep PC might be the only thing you're having problem with. And that's normal for many video games. When your PC goes into sleep mode, it suspends most of its functions including the GPUs, and you'd be lucky to find some games that don't crash after hibernation.

To solve this, simply turn off the auto-sleep function, or at least set it to 2-3 hours. You shouldn't take that long AFK time for your "business". But if your business is that important and needs more than 2-3 hours, then you shouldn't be worried about your video game crashing.

Make every setting "performance"!
If you are a Warden, use "True Power"!

For a little more info on my system and setup. I have my PC in the living room hooked up to the 4K TV. When I'm not gaming, I'm either watching TV where I'd rather have the PC go to sleep in order to shut the RGB lighting off which reduces light distraction from what I'm watching, or I'm going to sleep myself and would rather the PC do the same. It's just a personal preference is all. With Ryza, I've just been saving and exiting the game when I feel like I may be away for more than 10 minutes. Thankfully the game is good about being able to quickly find a good point in the game to head back to the hideout and save.
