yeah, there's no problem discussing ROMs in general and there's nothing wrong with patching your own games. The only issue is distribution/procurement.
Can we assume you will be providing information for people where too get there hardware and guides on using it to dump there legal roms and bios of the cores you released. If not how do people use your product in a way that will not get them banned by asking about content.
We can't advise you on the legality of dumping in your locale, so best to check with your local laws and statutes first. Dumping the material is a technical process--there is hardware available that can help with dumping carts, like the Retrode, CopyNES and Super Nt running "jailbroken" firmware--and there are different processes you need to follow depending on what dumping hardware you use. We do not make or provide such information, but you can run some of your original content (CD) directly from RetroArch. Check out our Disc Project for this: https://www.libretro.com/index.php/category/retroarch-disc-project/
Well its hard to reach an audience when they dont have a clear way to use content required on this platform apart from optical media based medium. Still it an interesting conundrum I guess time will tell how this one goes.
Hopefully IP holders will release DLC in there own store since this is gpl there is no middle men to deal with they can just release there catalog for people to use this content in the free cores
Thank you so much, looking forward to bring RetroArch to more people...
Hi,
Could you follow these steps and let me know with the results; Shift Tab while RetroArch is open > Gamepad Configurations > then reset your controller or force off.
The final version is "ready," in so far as there needing to be a final version. It's on Valve to give the "OK" to fully release.
that is literally impossible when discussing an emulator and you know it is.
