also sometimes it says you can't advance your bond with them but you should do it anyway cuz with marie you had to go to junes with her to advance your bond
Lunch: requires you to prepare lunch the night before taking up your evening, only works for students, can only be done on special days.
Story choices: Certain story choices will add bonus points to certain characters, often requiring a stat investment. Sometimes these aren't available except during NG+ E.g. just eating the food during the campout gives +1 point to both Priestess and Chariot, but requires high courage.
Fortunes: These give +2 points to a social link, but require your entire afternoon. However, they can be done when you can't do anything else. Not as good as hanging out with someone which instead gives +3 points.
Evening hangouts: These give +3 points to a social link just like hanging out during a day, but few social links can advance at night anyways. This is a great way to get the points if your SL is available for hangouts at night.
Personas: If you didn't know, you get more points on a social link when you hang out with a persona of the appropriate arcana. It does not have to be active, just in the list. Think of it as you being in the right mindset to deal with the person, though the points you earn during a social link event are used in the next rank up, not the current one.
Class questions: For your classmates, you can assist them with questions in class and gain stat points and points to their SL if you get the question right. Limited only to those in your class though.
I'm mentioning these because these might give points, but I'm not sure:
Movies: You can invite party members out to the movies once you have your bike license. I do not know if this gives points to the SL, but it certainly improves their persona.
Bike Dates: I have not gotten to the point where I can invite people out to these, but these are a thing. I don't know what all the rewards are, but you can learn unique skills for their personas, and possibly get more points on the SL.
I'm still going through the story and I'm near the end of June, so there may be more ways that I haven't found yet. Keep your eyes out for things that pop little music notes up when you do them over someone's head. This indicates that you gained points on their SL.
Events can give you points to (some) social links as well. For example top 10 on the exams gives +2 to all your school links, and no 1 on exams gives +3. There are also some story mandatory events that give points to Yosuke or Chie, as does helping them with a question during class.
These points dont carryover between social link ranks however. You want to try and keep a social link at a level where ''you cant advance yet'' just before they get ''free'' points from an event. That will save you having to spend extra days. Ofcourse, if you arent using a guide it will be hard to predict these. Exam results always gives bonus points if you do well enough tho, and you can find the dates for the exam results on the Calender in your room.
The above post also mentions a few other ways, altho those do take half a day each.
Some small corrections to a few of them:
-Evening hangouts: You get +3 points for hanging out with someone during the night, but also an additional +3 if you select the right choice during the following dialogue, for a total of +6.
-Fortunes: there are 3 kinds of fortunes: small, mild and great blessings. Great blessings give 3x as many points as small, and mild give 2x as many points as small. One great blessing gives about 2 points to a social link.
While these cost half a day and dont give many points, they do have the advantage that you can do these during the night. (requires a small amount of Courage, rank 1 or 2, to be able to visit the Shrine at nights) At night there are less social links available, so these gives an extra option for getting some points when you have nothing else to do.
