Played and Beat P5. How is P4 different?
Is it a completely different style of game? I've heard people say it is better than P5, worse than P5.

P4 have multiple endings. But it does not have the gun damage like in P5. No annoying cat telling you to go to sleep.

I'd say they're more or less the same. But I do prefer the story in P4 more because I love murder mystery.

P4 is a little more repetitive imo but a little bit harder as well. I've heard p4g is easier but I originally played it on the ps2

They definitely nerfed the first boss in Golden. On the PS2 version it only had a weakness on the add that it summoned, which was WAY tankier and basically couldn't be killed. This meant that the only way to exploit this was with Mabufu, which would rip through Chie's low SP pool at the best of times. You also couldn't get All Out Attacks to burn through its health before it could pull off some of the full party fire attacks or the insta-kill combo.

They also nerfed the second boss such that its adds are much less tanky, and it's much less likely to be able to hit you with a multi-hit Rampage combo that does like 270 damage.

What difficulty modes does the game have?

Worse than P5 in every possible way.

They are both good games. I personally like P5's plot and world more. I think 4 does have the better characters though.

4 is a lot older too so it's dungeons are basically randomly generated hallways. It's nothing cool like palaces in 5.

Oh and I think 4's OST is better.

P3 is overcoming death(blue), P4 is covercoming blissful ignorance(yellow) and P5 is breaking from fate to make your own(red).

Erm, on Hard that first boss is still very hard to kill. It can also still oneshot character with 200 damage~ Its all party fire attack comes pretty early too, as does the insta-kill combo.

Burning its health definately doesnt happen if you arent overleveled.

I dunno what difficulty you played on then, and which now. And what level you are. But to me it feels roughly the same as it did back then. The main difference being that Fusing Personas isnt an RNG grind (which is much appreciated).

Actual gameplay difficulty doesnt feel easier at all.

In terms of gameplay, basically imagine if every palace was a slightly different variation of mementos.
In terms of story telling it’s basically the same thing

The RPG aspects of the game aren't quite as intricate or nuanced as P5 but overall the battle system is very similar. The biggest gameplay difference is probably how you don't obtain personas through negotiation in P4. Dungeons are very simple compared to P5. The school life side of the game is pretty similar but less expansive than P5, still plenty to do though.

The overall tone of the game is more upbeat, very relaxing atmosphere and not nearly as much angst as P5. I think this is the reason so many players consider it the best; the whole game feels like a fond memory. Both are very good games.

Okay completely unrelated but am I the only one who finds it kinda funny that the game where a teenager dying is one of the first things that happens is the more upbeat game?

True, lmfao. Although P5 introduces themes of sexual abuse and suicide just as quickly. Only upbeat in comparison I guess.
