L.A. Noire doesn't launch
I just bought it yesterday and made it installed. Every time I try to run this game, I click the start button on steam, a auto-update window jumps out,and then it has no reflect. The launcher doesn't launch, the game doesn't launch, Not even a error window jumps out, just stops running anymore.
I've tried to fix the registry, then the auto-update thing install a R-star Social Club which I already had ti installed for Red Dead Redemption 2, and the launcher has no reflect again.
I've went through lot's of themes says, run the DXSETUP.exe in 3rd will result this problem. I did, but the same problem keeps appears.
Now I have no way out. Hopping folks can help me solve this problem

This did work for me, i had to add 4 registry keys and run then the game as Administrator. My pc has latest Windows 10 Home 64-bit version.

The direct download url for the 4 needed registry files to get LA Noire to work (double click on them to activate) :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/pce4tzf7n5q289a/L.A.%20Noire%20Error%20Handler%20Reg%20Updates.zip?dl=1

If this does not work try next thing:

If directx error comes
you have to go to this folder of the game:
steam\steamapps\common\L.A.Noire\3rd
there you start the dxsetup.exe
after this the game runs perfectly inclusive in dx 11

(Also try updating your hardware devices drivers)

Exit Steam completely down in the hidden icons, then right click the steam desktop icon and click "Run as Administrator" then open up Steam and launch as normal? this worked for me as soon as I tried it :)

Exit Steam from Task Manager, then start it with Run as administrator (the Steam app). That should solve the problem. I did the same.

There's a ton of overly complicated 'fixes' suggested for this that could potentially leave you open to other issues. It seems as though Rockstar doesn't allow this game to run without Rockstar social club. If you install their app https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ have it detect your game, then launch from their app the steam launcher should then work for you.

I originally fixed this issue by running as an admin, but I like to keep things tidy on my machine and disabled the Rockstar Social Club process because it was unnecessary, once I did that all of these issues people are having started. I reviewed the long fix list option which involved importing registry files, but that didn't work, as well as several other suggestions. I then went back to the Rockstar Social Club app, reinstalled it, logged in, had it detect for Rockstar games and it launched without issues from there.

One thing to note, I lost my saved game data when I launched it this way, I would recommend copying your LA Noire data to a separate folder just in case it's overwriting something, I just started the game, so I didn't really care, but you might.

I installed this stupid "Social Club" and the damn launcher and when I choose "Play on Steam", the stupid game don't launches! I waste my time creating a account in that ridiculous "Social Club" FOR NOTHING! Rockstar, we want a fix for this bug and we want it NOW!

Just read this link, it gets the game to work and is very simple. If you can't read and follow the instructions you won't be able to get past the 2 in game case file anyway.

Hey guys! I fixed the launch error by doing the following:
- Installing and Updating the Rockstar Games Launcher (Run as an ADMIN)
- Run Steam as an ADMIN.
- Change the settings of L.A. Noire to DirectX11.

* I'm using Windows 10 if that makes any difference. Those 3 steps work out just fine for me!

And how in hell I can run Steam and that stupid Rockstar Games Launcher as admin?

Rightclick on Steam icon on desktop > Run as Administrator.

Same story for Social Club

This option don't appears in the Task Bar.

EDIT: oh, you are talking about the icons in the desktop? I hate to let any icons there! the only icon there is the from Social Club, once I forget to delete it like I have done with Steam icon. How I place an icon back there?

Go to your Games Library (Steam) -> Find the L.A. Noire game -> Right click on it ->
select 'Manage' -> 'Add desktop shortcut'.
