They translated it this way in the language I am playing ("special damage" when translated back to English). I have just checked English version and I see they used "Perk damage", now I see what you mean. Still a good change, previously it wasn't clear from description that Specialist perk uses completely different mechanic comparing to similar Flexibility perk.
Oh I see what you mean then, my bad. I don't remember what it said before the update, it just makes it sound like it only applies to damage from perks, but there isn't much perks at all that add damage. So the confusion to me is, if it adds damage onto just like 2 perks, why not just say that in the perk instead of adding "perk damage" lol. Its weird. Or if it applies to perks like "Fortress Master" then that just seems very strong. Or like, is it +90% or is +70% (50 x 1.40). It just is weird and confusing but I guess most of the perks are pretty useless except the ones that obviously aren't

Previously it was "total damage", I didn't realize it was different from "damage" until I watched a video. The confusion comes from "damage" being used as just one of damage multipliers along with isolation, opportunism etc, while "total damage" was yet another multiplier too despite the name. Now that it is called "perk damage", it is totally clear that it is an independent damage multiplier which is not connected to damage from Specialist or damage attribute. I agree "special damage" might be a better name, "perk damage" sounds like it is caused by all perks.

Steam Deck fix when?
Hi ! As far as I know Valve found a fix that should be included in the next update. Someone apparently had the game working properly after switching compatibility settings to proton 9 beta.

Hi ! Were you using the workaround for the controller issue ? If not, do you still have the issue when using it ? If you already were using it, could you check if you still have the issue when using Proton 9 beta as mentionned above ?
If you still have an issue please open a new thread in the Technical Support category.

If you can use an ability to force someone to jump/be thrown/tunnel, it fixes every-bodies movement. But until then, people are just stuck in place as though they have 0 movement.
I'm unsure it's the same issue as the one I answered above, but it could be. If you're playing on Steamdeck could you try the same method ? If you are playing on PC, could you please send your logs and saves ? (and are you playing with a gamepad or with mouse & keyboard?)

You can find your logs here (whole folder) :
%Appdata%/../LocalLow/Ishtar Games/The Last Spell/Logs

And saves here :
%Appdata%/../LocalLow/Ishtar Games/The Last Spell/Save/Steam
(inside the numbered folder, it's your SteamID, then make an archive of the Profile1 folder)

You can send them in an email explaining the issue and with the other info at support[at]ishtar[dot]games

Sorry all for the inconvenience.

I appreciate the info but I am on Windows 11 on a gaming laptop. I'll try to see if I can force it by doing weird things, but I never tried to make it happen in the first place, and it happened like 3x in like 30 ingame "days"

I've managed to softlock the game by going into the prowess UI after I enabled and then disabled the DLC, it won't let me leave until I unlock something, but I can't, so I have to alt-F4 every time. (There might be a way to leave but I didn't find one.)
Enabling and disabling the DLC doesn't seem to mess anything else up, and I doubt most people even know you can disable DLC on Steam, but I find it kinda weird that it doesn't let you leave unless you unlock something even from the main menu. I'm not sure why that feature exists at all except maybe to try to force people to unlock more stuff and dilute the spawning pool a bit, at least after the first few runs?
Alt-F4ing fixes the softlock because the only problem is that it won't let you leave the menu, and once you're back in the main part of the game you can just not enter it when it tells you you can unlock a prowess.
I think the core of the bug is that prowesses are not displayed if you don't have the DLC, but the game probably still saves that you can unlock them- either that or it's a simple number counter.

Needs omens (or options) to increase/decrease/disable a given race from spawning with the DLC. And a bit better wording on what "perk damage" actually MEANS. As others have said, it is very confusing as written and implies it only affects damage granted by or dealt by other perks. I ASSUME it is a total damage (or otherwise, additional) modifier to all damage dealt, being additive with other perk damage and multiplicative with others.

I figured out something easier than trying to figure out what "perk damage" applies to. All of the +damage perks suck except the mana one. So you don't even have to wonder what it applies to lol

Right, who needs to deal 300 damage instead of 200.

Your argument would be better off using real numbers or names of perks, and not made-up fairy-tale numbers. I know that may be hard for you with your logic (lack of) consistently shown here

There are perks which add 25%, 40%, up to 40% and up to 50% as perk damage. And then they stack for ridiculous damage. I am lazy to find their names as I play non-English version. If you are not sure about something, do not pretend to be an expert, it looks too funny.

"I can't remember the perk names off the top of my head... blah blah b lah... if you are not sure about something do not pretend to be an expert". Sounds like the complete opposite here, because my response to the other person commenting was simple and to the point. Your comment is "durr um, for some reason I can't remember the names of perks of this videogame that I am so intelligent of, I know it works for some perks but for some weird reason I just can't remember the names durr".

Yeah I will take infinite mana and spamming many spells + abilities, doing 4+ enemies ranged attack AOE for 800+ damage all game over "+100 damage" lol. What a joke

Flexibility, Don't panic, Proximity Shot, Big Game Hunter.

Now you are in my "I am expert because I know almost nothing about the game" book. You don't even know how percentages work, lol.

Oh, you only listed 3 perks out of the 40+ perks, not only that, but the perks rotate and those don't always show up. So you want someone to invest a perk point, into a perk that only applies to 3 perks, AND those 3 perks don't always show up? You must be very efficient with both your builds and playtime :BL3Facepalm: . Or yaknow, like I said, other perks apply to everything, are easy to pick out, they are useful early game (not Just late game) and are just all around useful in general. Your book must be filled with logical people then (the opposite of you) so I will gladly take it. You literally recommend a perk that only adds damage if very close to enemies...
