There are a number of ways to beat the "8 effing bears". Most straight forward is with items, and you will always need a win condition, something that can one shot Leshy (i.e. deal 5 damage). If you don't have the items to help you do that, you'll have to stall until starvation kicks in when you run out of cards to draw, provided your win condition has airborne to attack Leshy directly (such as a Lammergeier).
I'll list some methods to bypass the bears. It's not an exhaustive list as it's just off my head.
Some general tips is that getting Pack Rat early is extremely helpful to replenish items. Cockroach is one of the best cards to get due to the insane combos you can get with Skink or Warren. If you land on a tribe event, I favor picking the wolf tribe as there are no real deadweights to hinder you. Even if you get a coyote, wolf pup or bloodhound, they are still decent enough. For other tribes you may get absolute trash.
To learn how to beat Skullstorm (all challenges active), it is best to practice with just the Bear challenge + no rare cards from bosses + 2 item limit first. You'll slowly get the hang of it although luck is still a vital factor to your success.
the blood starter deck/hand with the goat and moose is perfect for this, but you have to get rid of the mole (either by sacrificing it to the bone lord or giving its sigil to the goat or moose) asap.
mantis god (hits three spot all at once, tripling every damage buff you give it, or if you give it the touch of death sigil, it will simply clear almost the whole row in one go) and dire wolf (double strike means it can kill a bear and then get damage on the scales for you in the same turn before the next bear can move forward) are both very good options too.
After the bears spawn, open up a space using one of the items, then win the fight in one turn using your strong card.
I did this in my game by using a super buffed Mantis God, and putting the magpie sigil onto my other 1-blood cards that I had. (I used fair-hand like stated in the above comment.)
For set-up, Mantis God should be on the field before the Grizzlys appear and depending on how your draft goes, at least one other critter of your choice with one space beside Skink so he can split himself (anything with a low bone cost that can be easily fielded - Meal Worm and Alpha Wolf are what I used). Keep in mind that the attack order of the Grizzlys is your left to your right, and set your board accordingly so you can avoid the turn 1 damage (but even if you don't, it's not a big deal).
As long as the Grizzly one-shots Skink and there's an open space next to Skink, he generates a Wriggling Tail, takes the hit, dies, and the Wriggling Tail he generates will also take the hit and die. But the Wriggling Tail that comes from the Skink will have the undying sigil. Skink and Wriggling Tail will return to your hand.
Then, your next turn, you play Wriggling Tail, sacrifice it to play Skink and set your board up so that Skink has the space to split and die again, generating yet another Wriggling Tail.
Keep going until you beat the Grizzlys! I had three Wriggling Tails in my hand + the Skink and it was pretty fun watching those bears throw themselves against my little lizard to no avail. I did end up giving Mantis God a little play and adding the Lethal sigil from the snake to speed things along but as long as you're careful, the Grizzlys can never beat you.
Your Wriggling Tails will also have one lower attack power than what you gave your Skink so they can just chip away.
Editing to add this: one of the worst parts of this challenge is that the dive squirrels do not allow you to stall or block damage, so it helps to draft cards that generate better sacrifices. The Warren, the Hive and the Tadpole are all great companions for a deck like this (I had a Tadpole with the Warren sigil on it so I played a free card, got a free card, and then had two sacrifices to work with immediately). Hive can be good but you'll have to buff it to take enough hits to generate free sacrifices for you (haven't tried that yet so take it with a grain of salt).
It also helps to spread any buffs you're getting among your other cards so that Leshy doesn't scale up his own creatures in response (i.e. don't go the route of powering up Mantis God at the expense of everything else in your deck or the challenge gets harder).
Good luck and have fun!
