This game NEEDS multiplayer
I totally know that mp have little to 0 chance of happening, but imagine how cool would be to play this game against your friend or in a ranked system.

no, i like my singleplayer games single. i rather the devs take the time to just make a new game instead of struggle with multiplayer and all its issues. a modder can do it if they really want to but forcing devs to make a singleplayer game a multiplayer game is weird and people asked it for like slime rancher and subnautica and never understood it.

plus why say they need to, it just sounds made disrespectful for the time they put to make this a amazing singleplayer experience. i sadly got bored but it is a really high effort 4th wall breaking game.

Single player games can still be the same and have multiplayer as an external mode like Kaycee's, per example recent DOOM games. But sure that's ressources taken for this, even more if the game needs a lot of rewrite for the multiplayer part, and again even more cost for indie studios/solo devs.

I can see the point of wishing to play Inscryption cards again other players even tho I'm not sure how that would work since some decks are just op
Same for aventure games, they are great single player but living them with other players can also be fun or give another experience of the game.
On Subnautica it may break a bit the isolation feeling and story as it wasn't made for multiplayer but there are surely creative ways that could have made group of players still feel isolated and scared if it was planned during early development of the game
Hope this can give an idea

Well, I think that the whole point of asking for multiplayer is because this game is kinda unique. If you really think about it, there is not any other game like Inscryption, so making another game makes no sense. Multiplayer would be a way for more people to know this wonderfull game, plus the fact that online play could help the devs with financial support.

There's no guarantee of that. There's the other possibility that it could cost the developer more than it's worth, a loss.

I mean, there is a risk in everything. And it's not like the devs couldn't measure the amount of interested people in a multiplayer product. However, I agree that probably the best move wouldn't be a multiplayer for Inscryption 1, but for a future game.

it might be kinda cool, but the npc in this game is a lot more complex than just being an ai player, and has different abilities than the player does, and i think that's a big part of what makes it fun and balanced to play. i don't think there is a good way to convert that into a player versus player experience, and that's probably why they didn't try to make/print an actual physical card game version of this. as fun as it is to get to share an experience with friends, i also think this game is just fantastic as it is- it doesn't NEED anything else.

The cards do have an alternate physical release, you can get two series of twelve Inscryption card packs on the editor Devolver Digital's website. However their visuals aren't the same at all and sure as you said playing with them might be quite hard to balance. Not sure if this is more collector merch or made to actually seriously play with

they risked adding act 2, which was not even in the steam page.
I'd really enjoy a multiplayer mode besides the main game too
