Or you know what. Don't bother. In my experience any one who asks this question, it's not worth their time.
It has an overwhelming approval rating on steam for a reason, but you can't please everybody.
Reading through the discussions on steam it seems to change in design at Act 3 again and also you can enable a "Official" Mod which makes Act 1 repeatable.
Also, side note there was no pictures showing the pixel art design on the store page for the game. I dislike the pixel art design in any games so would have avoided it, just my taste in art, not the end of the world like some people seem to think it is in the steam discussions.
Not targeting you specifically, just something to also keep in mind.
act 2 is also pretty short (but full of secrets, look for them everywhere, it's worth) so it's not like you have to endure it to game end.
you also get to see 2 deck card mechanics, beside blood and bones, that are not present in the cabin.
Showing it substantially would have completely undermined the story however.
I can understand having preferences for style, but its still a card game, and still follows most of the same rules.
What makes this game special is that it doesn't stick to one thing for an egregious amount of time, similar to the other games from this developer.
If you really only like chapter 1, then you can continue playing chapter 1, either by restarting or using kaycee's mod.
Act 1 challenges your ability to spot which of the options -- most of which are handed to you on a silver platter -- is gonna be the most powerful. Act 2 challenges your ability to go looking for powerful combos yourself; yes it builds on what you know from Act 1 and you could, with enough effort, simply recreate a powerful Act 1 beast deck and win with that. However, there is so much more on offer -- not just 4 entire decks/strategies, but the synergies between them. You'll notice that you no longer get items in Act 2... you don't need them anymore. The items are a "get out of jail, free" card for if you fail to account for RNG in Act 1 (in Kaycee's Mod it's a bit different; the RNG is gonna screw you in KM and the items are there so that you have a way to fight back); in Act 2 you have all the tools you need just in the cards available, and frankly you can do even more broken nonsense using some of those combos.
Beyond Act 2, you'll actually go back to more "on rails"/narratively driven gameplay that is more like puzzles with pre-defined solutions. It's not totally locked in, you still have freedom for a few different ways to approach each puzzle; but the puzzles themselves are narrower and built off of new mechanics being added with each round or two. Act 2 just gives you an open world and says "ok, figure things out as you find them, good luck!", and doesn't put its finger on the scales anywhere near as much as any other parts of the game.
