100% Not Possible on Steam Deck

This works fantastically on Steam Deck. Excellent graphics and stable performance with FSR. I've experienced practically no bugs. However, there is at least one critical bug and it's sitting right in front of the finish line.

You should be able to beat the game on Steam Deck without issue. However, you're prevented from a 100% run because of a bug present in the gig "I Don't Wanna Hear It". You're asked to take a photo of Kerry and the Japanese band. This is actually mandatory and part of the scripted sequence. It enters Photo Mode.

You can choose a selfie response if you have 20 cool, which is the same mode with some different options. It appears to work fine but when you actually take the photo, it will freeze the image on your Steam Deck. The game will continue playing and you can hear the scripted dialogue continue. Unfortunately, since the image is frozen you can't really do anything. Even pausing doesn't change the image.

I'm pretty much SOL here. I wanted to do everything else before beating the game and now I can't. I tried mapping F5 to an extra button so I could save the game during after the freeze frame occurs. However, the scripted sequence disables saving, so it does not work.

Just now had the same issue on the mission where V interrogates Fingers the chopperdoc.

Tried taking a photo as we were leaving and it froze the screen, but I could hear the audio just fine. Even if I tried moving I could hear myself moving, but it was just the frozen photo I took in photomode stuck on screen.

To be clear, the mission worked fine the 2nd time around. The autosave put me right back in the building I was leaving, so I simply didn't try using photomode and the mission was completed.

So definitely sounds like photomode has some Steam Deck issues

If you can reproduce it then could bug report it to CDPR. although I'm really uncertain on just how supported the game is on Steam deck.

I can confirm that some certain dialogue choices allow you to bypass the photo sequence and proceed to beat the game. Didn't realise that at the time of writing. Yes, the issue is photo mode which is broken on Deck. Not sure if the bug has any relation to the FSR 2.0 mod.

I know I'm a little late to this, but this bug can apparently also be caused by the mod Photo Mode Unlocker 1.6 XL. After disabling the mod, the picture-taking works fine

I wasn't using mods, so maybe the developers patched the problem in vanilla.

For me I found out the solution of this issue just in first two hours of gameplay so I wanna share it with you here. Go to settings> videos> switch Windowed Mode to Windowed Borderless and then apply it. That's it i hope this works for others 😁

Maybe a little late, but I found a fix. It's a resolution issue. If you switch to 1280x720 in fullscreen mode, the photomode works and you can finish the mission.
