2.0 car handling is still horrendously bad and needs serious improvement
I'm pretty good at driving and in racing games, saints row, GTA, f-zero, freaking podracer for the n64, burnout, NFS, whatever

It's not like I'm some AMAZING racing game player, but never in my life have I ever encountered vehicle controls that are on this level of bad

The massive oversteering or the ridiculously nonsensical understeering make the racing sidequest unbearable

How is it that my vehicle is sliding as if I am moving too fast to control, but I'm only moving at 15 mph and JUST starting to accelerate?

You can't drift at all in the cars, they MASSIVELY over steer and you end up doing a full 180, even if you brake HARD

If you try to flick the stick to make the turn and then ride out the momentum with the brake, they also understeer so massively, it's like there is no in between at all

There simply is no conceivable way that steering this made could have made the green light for this patch, I wouldn't even say it's better on cars, it's just a different flavor of terrible

Not one person I know uses the cars, everyone including me uses the motorcycles. I thought that this was ONLY because of the fact that cycles can go between cars, and while this might be true for me I can clearly see that even if you put the traffic density aside, the cars simply have controls that are so dreadful it's no wonder nobody wants to use them

I just downloaded a mod that only marginally helped, but seriously CDPR you need to fix the driving controls, they are pretty much unusable. It's like trying to run on ice in a zelda game, extremely floaty, no weight, the steering being too harsh or not enough makes no sense, it's pretty much impossible to drift intuitively, and you make that a requirement to win the race or escape the cops, so obviously we need to be able to do that

But the cars handling is so terrible that doing what needs to be done is basically impossible, or it's done in a way that is so terribly designed that it's not even a little bit intuitive, there's no reason I should have a dozen games in this genre under my belt and be an expert at driving fast in this genre only to have to spend 20+ tries to even complete the stupid racing sidequest because the cars feel like they have no treads left at all or the tires are covered in a layer of black ice, seriously

Skill issue, you need some time to adjust but after a few hours you can do nice things

I've found it alot better and actually enjoy driving now, whats getting me are the pedestrians and other drivers that were supposed to be better but for me are way worse.

You should try 1.0 driving.

The sandevistan car slow motion is bad. It would be better if it worked like the gta 5 slow motion driving from the story where the car has better turning in slowmo. Instead i crash at slowmotion with the sandevistan lol

Give the baby driver mod a go and see if it feels better.

Still don't understand why people is concerned about drive handling you can easy fix with mods. Even if you don't want to use mods, car driving is 1% of the game.

some cars handling like a wet bar of soap on a glass table is not a "skill issue" and getting used to something that isnt designed well so its not annoying anymore isnt "skill",

i really dont like it either. its actually the only thing i dont like about Cyberpunk right now.

i recommend you to drive with a controller.
when ever i was flying something in GTA 5 switched i always to controller because flying with mouse and keyboard is HORRIBLE. tho granted, it might be annoying to do this since ya drive relatively often in cyberpunk xD vs flying in GTA 5.

The problem is that is a relatively easy fix with mods. Most if not all of them are just config changes that make driving more responsive and realistic. Why devs couldn't bother doing it themselves is pretty damn good question imo.

Also, let's not forget, mods are not the product you've bought. They should be an extension of the game and sure as hell shouldn't be necessary to keep things in check.

I am driving with a controller, the issue isn't the control scheme but there's just something terribly wrong with how the cars handle. Somehow they act as if they weigh virtually nothing and weigh 50 tons at the same time. Somehow they also act as if they are moving uncontrollably fast while moving at 5 mph at the same time. The massive oversteering and understeering.

For example, if you try to take a corner using a brake turn and you tilt the stick say 45 degrees left while braking and then accelerating, you will turn a full 360 degrees and fly completely out of control while going even 30 mph.

But if you try the same maneuver but tilt the stick say 25 degrees you will somehow totally understeer and barely move even 10 degrees to the left and ram into a building because you basically didn't make the turn at all.

How is a 20 degree difference make a 290% difference in the turn? It makes no sense. The controls are clearly off.

Yes I played the game in 1.0 but the cars were also so bad I only used them like twice or whatever the minimum is and always used motorcycles. Just because it was a 1 out of 10 back in the day doesn't mean it isn't a 2 out of 10 now. It's still horrendously bad.

Thank you, it's really frustrating when trying to give honest criticism that actually has useful feedback in it only to be shouted at by a bunch of white knights who claim everything is 100% fine and then personally attack the person who gives the criticism.

It does feel a bit like some of the changes that were made in like 1.5(maybe 1.6) were reverted in 2.0. They feel like they're steering and being propelled from the center of the vehicle again

Yeah, just like in real life, they ALWAYS move the WRONG way. You would think that anyone who survives in Night City would real fast learn how to get out of the way when an armored and insanely weapon-ed car comes at them, but no.... They HAVE to block the way every single time. And yeah, the always fun 'that car is coming behind me at 100+ MPH, so YEAH, I am going to do a left turn from the right lane in front of them! YEAH!' BAMMO!

Oops. How many points for that one?

Driving cars feels bad and always did. Motorcycles are better all things considered.

I'm actually driving MORE in 2.0 than before. Something's wrong with your setup.
