How to get Johnny to offer the secret ending?

So...I have looked this up, and it seems as if there are actually a couple of ways to get him to do this, but the second one, the one that does not involve you having to give incredibly specific answers during his quests and inscribing his initials, but DOES involve having his synergy score up, is proving difficult.

So, what is up? I have is score at 85% and I have cycled through multiple chat options people say still work if you got his score above 75% but he's just not saying a single thing about storming the tower.

Help?

The one and only thing that determines the availability of the secret ending is the dialogue choices made during one specific part of one specific side quest. The friendship % is actually irrelevant.

You have to use the right dialogue options at the end of Chippin' In, which is started by agreeing to let Johnny take the wheel to talk to Rogue about Smasher.

"Nah, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that up too."
"What do you want from me?"
"Ok. But as second chances go, this is your last."

Those three dialogue options will unlock access to (Don't Fear) The Reaper. Nothing else actually matters.
