We've known this for six months now. It wasn't that they were "unable" to do it, as it was initially implemented. It was just cut for design reasons as the game progressed and testing gave them a clearer idea of what worked and didn't in terms of their overall vision. (As with the player controlled Flathead robot. Its only functions were surveillance and hacking, which we already have via other skills, so they nixed it for redundancy.)
I can only share information with you, not shape your opinion of it. You are entitled to your own tastes. My goal is just for people to go into the game with accurate expectations (for better or worse.) I don't want anyone to end up purchasing a game that isn't what they want it to be.
