Help with mods..
How do i install and use mods? Is there a up to date guide for 2025 or 2.2, i assume 2.2 is the latest game version?

or there are no mods compatible for 2.2 and need use older version?

I tried install some mods myself and I bricked my game... so any help how to do it or if should just be avoided altogether (not possible) because of 2.2.

easiest fix is to delete all files i added?

The vast majority of mods aren't ready for 2.2. Either you wait some weeks or downgrade but it wouldn't do it yet

That is no true and false info. All the essential mods have been upgraded (redscript, CET, etc.). The majority of CP mods depend on these, so even if your mods is from version 1.0, it will probably run with 2.2.

Running around 200 mods myself over the years and I've never made a clean install. Using the mods from prior versions without a issue.

None of my mods profiles work atm they crash with 2.2. Essentials are ready yes but not all mods are and OP wants to dig in so he should wait for now

Yeah the "updated" mods are broken too, no scripts work. Wait a bit longer. And Nexus mods is offline, issues galore.

Okay thanks for the replies i will just uninstall all mods i downloaded and installed and play the game standard version.

i assume i installed all right by dragging the folders into the game folder.
Seems to depend heavily on the mods you use. I use a lot of mods, all of them work in 2.2

There is no need to abandon the plan to use mods. if you still want to know how, let me know. i will give you some basics.

Honestly, the best way to find out how to install mods correctly, and whether they work with 2.2, is to look at the mod pages for the particular mods in question. They usually include a set of install instructions, and either a changelog or a discussion tab where you can see if there's talk about it not working.
(if you're using Nexus. I'd assume that other 'big' mod sites would have similar)

edit: but yeah, 98% of the mods I've used, all I had to do was open the mod archive, and drag the folders in there onto the Cyberpunk folder in steamapps. Once in a while, an updated mod will need me to remove the old files rather than just overwriting them, because they changed some of the mod structure. But that's rare.

there is A LOT of false info here I just started playing a brand new playthrough of this like a week ago well after 2.2 was released and I have over 100 mods running right now some of the install locations for core mods were changed a bit.

If your having trouble using mods uninstall the game and make sure to delete everything left in the folder. Also do not mix Redmods with non redmods. I use all non redmod versions and manually download and install mods from the nexus.

There are A lot of guides to installing mods on the nexus also there is a modding discord for cyberpunk.

To peeps with trouble, if your mods are broken and not working. I highly recommend having a fresh copy of the game and reinstalling everything. I've noticed that simply updating the essentials breaks the game so I've had to update this way for a while now.

Yeah they're just trolling the kid.

I got banned from this forum for 2 weeks because I posted a thread that said 'I told you so' in regards to CDPR bringing the game back around and that it wasn't that bad to begin with. I may have also said the people on the other side of that argument could 'suck my butt,' which is obviously tongue and cheek.

Apparently, that kind of infectious positivity isn't allowed on this forum. How dare you praise the game.

Meanwhile, 90% of replies are just ♥♥♥♥ posting.

Seriously, though, I played the game from launch on an RADEON 380 and now I have a freaking Nvidia 3060. The rest of my internals are from 2013 when I bought the PC. I saw a guy T-pose in the prologue video like twice.

CP77 being bad and bug ridden, at least on PC, was ALWAYS a scam. I suspect the real difference in the 2.0 redemption arc was just that the consoles advanced/people tossed their Xbox 360 or whatever.

Don't shut me down mods! Sorry I said positive things about your game, I'll keep it to a minimum

oh yikes!

i only downloaded 5 mods and already broke my game. they were from nexus.
i dont know what redmods are and non-redmods. i also tried google and youtube and couldn't find any new guide about mods that was within the last year. most guides were from 2020, 2022 and 2023. found some "mods to use in 2024/2025" but it was just goof mods and didnt explain how to get them to work or how to install them without bricking your game.

i even saw some youtube video with good graphics about some mod dreampunk and i couldn't find it anywhere either neither on google or nexus.

what is the modding discord for cyberpunk called? can you give me a link?

some mods were nfsw and i dont even know if im allowed to discuss that here, and heck i dont even know the game has nfsw by default but i assume it do based on the character creator but even that i havent seen ever in my gameplay as of yet.
