Crafting components not available at any shops?
Not a single shop offering the crafting components, I can only get the components by dismantle weapons....I used to able buy the components at shops, not after the recent updates, any one having the same problem?

I only started playing properly after the DLC and patch 2.1, and have never been able to buy crafting components, so if it was possible before, it is probably a removed / changed feature.

You cannot buy them anymore. It might have been 2.0 when it was removed. Just have to scrap guns

It seems to me (but I don't have a direct comparison) that they may have increased income from other sources (which would make sense if disassembling weapons is required for crafting).

Selling weapons is still, by far, the main way to make money. No other method is even slightly viable at all.

It isn't an issue though if you are exploring and just not expecting to make every single Iconic weapon ++. By the time I finished the base game I was able to have like 8-9 iconics be Legendary++ but it would be unrealistic to easily do it for all. You need to pick the ones you actually want to upgrade.

For cyberware I hacked regularly so that one was easy to make almost everything Legendary++ (but most cyberware doesn't benefit past Legendary or sees extremely little benefit at + and ++).

However, it also bears mention that there just isn't a lot to spend money on once you get to a certain level of wealth so at that point you are just disassembling all spare weapons. I spent probably the entire playtime from around level 30 to 60 with over 2m eddies and have yet to drop below that (finished base game, partially done with PL).

You guys might notice but also around half the weapons you pick up automatically disassemble, anyways into components at the left side of your screen when you loot.

that's sad...I have many eddies to spend...

go to the junk shops, disassemble. buy the gun vendors stock, disassemble.

roundabout way of doing things but its there.

If you are really stuck for components in the early game, you can go to junk shops and buy them out...it's expensive, but if you only need a few to level up an Iconic, maybe it's worth it. Aside from that, be diligent about picking up junk, finding loot boxes with components and disassembling dropped weapons [aside from the 'broken' weapons that automatically disassemble].

The early game is supposed to be a grind. I watch a lot of new players on YouTube that _constantly_ fail to look around, loot or disassemble weapons they can't use. Yes, it can be tough to decide whether to disassemble or sell for cash...that's part of the game. But with the new E$ value of weapons, cash is easy to come by. Play smart, not fast and carelessly.

doing crimes and side gigs will make you your money. Scrap all junk, clothes and weapons that you arnt using. Need a lot of components to upgrade cyberware

Getting weapons for scrapping and junk is very easy in this game:

For real, you got more than enough parts for upgrading 2 pieces of cyberware or weapons to Tier 5 in less than 1 hour just for cleaning the park and killing the groups and the one OC there and the two others near by.

I've sometimes bought new higher tier cyberware instead of upgrading my old. This saves a lot of components, but doing this resets any stats you've 'rolled' when upgrading before, of course, but it's an option.

Considering that a weapon upgrade from 5+ to 5++ costs 200 top tier components, which translates to 1000 tier 4 components or 5000 tier 3 components or 25000 tier 2 components or 125000 tier 1 components, one should carefully consider when to pick up the preferred weapons. Although upgrading from 5+ to 5++ is obviously the most exensive step, upgrading e.g. Chaos from tier 2 to tier 5+ would already cost a fortune, especially since upgrading cyberware costs a lot too.
I try to avoid getting favorite weapons too early in the game and rather wait until they are tier 5 (regular) for this reason. I also buy my entire cyberware at tier 4, which cost about half a million depending on your choice. Tier 4, because I want to have a few rolls for the passive skills that you can choose from, if you have the perk for it. So I try to get to Dogtown Market at level 30 sharp with at least 500k E$, because this is the first place where you can buy all cyberware. From there on out, I only upgrade cyberware to the limit, before I upgrade any weapons. I figured that this is a decent way to get your gear maxed out as soon as possible.
You could save even more by buying cyberware at level 40, but then you lose the option to influence the passive skills attached to it.
