V's situation is very unique and not relatable to your average Joe if you ask me. And being "trapped" is so darn vague that is applies to almost every single protagonist in every game out there.
But yeah, Cyberpunk is pretty dope.
mundane boring world of gta?
overplayed shallow magic world of skyrim?
fossil old oblivion and morrowind?
RDR2 is another boring real world game...
witcher 3 has something in it, but its one floor depth.. no verticality, boring way of transportation, no night life, stinks of real world quite a bit.
starfield - probably the worst of all open world games.. not boring setting but everything about it is just 1/10...
I keep finding things I dislike about the game and needing a mod to fix it.
I get what OP is saying. I can relate to trapped V.. Well atleast the Corpo version. As a dude who works to keep a roof over his head and his family fed, I get it.
I would love nothing more than to quit my job and become some high paid wet worker but unfortunately the electric company won't accept self reinvention as a form of payment. Thankfully I can live vicariously through V. I can't just randomly take the day off and sit at a Ramen stand and watch the weirdos of NC going about their day. But V can totally do that!
the side missions are 10x times better as the main story in my opinion and the secrets and hidden loot is near to limitless :)) cyberpunk is big love
I can't believe you said RDR2 misses details. It came out before cyberpunk, before tech had advanced as far as it has today and still remains to be one of the eye opening/jaw dropping experiences in the open world scene. People have ACTUAL JOBS in RDR2. You can watch a damn rail road being built for god sakes. That's not detail enough for you? The world is living/breathing. The world in night city is nice, but it's just flashy and in your face. RDR2 takes a lot of time to experience the "oomphf." of the world around you.
All said and done the Path Tracing is the only thing cutting edge about this game. It's a good game but not as innovative as people give it credit for.
I'll take Elden Ring over all of them tho. ♥♥♥♥ the FoMo on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ map markers and the GPS line following them....it's become a chore.
It's a bad comparison. The detail in in RDR2 is there but like the map it is wide spread. And the details in CP2077 are compacted together. They are both equally impressive in their detail but just different.
RDR2s world does change and evolve over time. New houses and old ones burnts down. And CPs citizens change as you complete gigs and such. After you clear out some Maelstrom from the docks people start having chicken games there.
