Update 2.2
If one does not have a great intrest in the photomode. what does this patch bring me.. i know they said there's new secrets. but not everyone has the time to dive deep into the game to comb it for what might be added as easter eggs

wtf untrue, the ideal scenario is your base FPS being 60 or above and on high refresh-rate monitors it will feel WAY better a majority of the time. it can vary per-game but most of my experience with framegen is using AMD's AFMF2.

From memory framegen only really makes some kind of sense if someone is CPU-bottlenecked, though I could be wrong.

But no FSR 3.1 FG
Edit: I really, really wish there was something applied to posts when merged saying so explicitly, because as usual, my post makes less sense without that context. For the record, this post was originally in a different topic, one in which someone was asking (paraphrasing,) "If I don't care about photo mode, what do I get out of this update?" But was merged (without notification, as that apparently isn't something Steam automatically does) into this topic instead.

Original post follows:

It's primarily a cosmetic update, outside of Johnny riding around with you, now. Outside of photomode, you have more options for customizing car colors, and can scan car paint schemes and apply them to lose the cops, now. Which is pretty neat imo. You can also hang up photos you take in your apartments, now. And character creation has some more options. Again, all cosmetic, though.

That said, honestly, given that they previously said principle development had ended, this is already far more than I expected. The game is finished essentially. I truly expected the final update to just be FSR 3.1 or some other purely technical implementation stuff. No actual content whatsoever. But then they announced a REDStream and it piqued my interest and, while it's cosmetic stuff, it's a heaping serving of it, and far more than I would have expected based on those prior statements.

Since they're subcontracting now as they move onto other projects, and we see a decent chunk of content from the studio they're doing so with, I wonder if we might actually see more other minor in-game content additions like these but in other, non-purely-cosmetic areas going forward now. They did make a point to mention that the studio has the capability of developing quests.

Just speculating of course, and I don't want to hope for anything as I'm more than satisfied as is (I was back on day one frankly,) but this was already more than I thought we'd see, as the game was believed to be effectively "done." So now it sort of feels like we're in uncharted territory and we may or may not see continued content support in the future. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No. Even major overhauls of game systems haven't required a new game start and this is largely cosmetics and bug fixing.

Lame costmetic stuff. Nothing of substance. Whole community is asking for NG+ and their plea is falling to deaf ears.

There's so many skills to train, NewGame + seems like a no brainer. An endgame loop would be nice as well...
The world is pretty huge with lots of npcs and locations, but besides crashing into things and killing random police and people I find myself wishing for more content that's of the rinse-repeat variety. A reason/place to grind would be nice.

If I just started, literally, yesterday I would -just to experience the new character creation.

I'm in Act 2 of a playthrough, though, and have no plans to restart.

And now we wait days/months/forever until mods are updated.

No NG+, no new optimization tweaks or new FSR, no PS5 Pro enhancement.
But yeah we paid our team to add some new cars and player cosmetics in a 1st person game. What a waste.

NG+ Doesn't work with this game.
Point of the game is becoming a legend. You can't become a legend, if you already start as being one.
