How to launch the game in Vortex AND Steam simultaneously?
When I launch the game in Vortex, it does not start in Steam. I can't use Steam overlay that way and don't get the achievements. Can I somehow let Vortex launch the game in Steam?

Pretty sure you don't need to launch *from* Vortex in order to use mods. I certainly never have with Fallout 4 when I used Vortex to mod manage it.
(now, with FO4, I had to launch from the F4SE launcher, but that was specific to that game's modding. CP2077 doesn't have anything like that.)

I've only done manually installed mods with CP, and launch the game from Steam. /shrug

When I first installed vortex and cyber engine tweaks, I did not run the game from vortex. I simply ran the game from Steam and CET worked fine.

Redmods launch from the Redlauncher, you'll see the tab to "enable mods". You can launch Redlauncher and deploy Redmods from Vortex, just make sure your Cyberpunk extension is up to date and you should see three icons on toopp of Vortex, Female V (launches game), a Gear symbol (launches Redmod deployment tool), and the CDPR Bird (launches Redlauncher).

The game has its own modloader, so you don't need Vortex.

If you check the splash screen after you started the game you'll notice a cogwheel icon; click on that and you'll notice a toggleable option to enable mods or not... that's basically the only thing you need.

Mods will easily work when you start your game like normal (so: using Steam).

Of course, only use the RedMod thing if you *are* using RedMod style mods. Most of the ones I've run into aren't, and so don't use it.

Okay, so I launched the game from Steam and now the mods work. Don't know what the issue was but I guess I just forgot installing something crucial. Anyway, thanks!

pretty sure that doesn't apply to things that use CET for mods/scripts for example, Vortex is also just convenient since you can easily download and manage all your mods.

I launch the game directly and CET, ArchiveXL, Codeware, Red4Ext, Redscript and others work just fine. I don't use any mods requiring RedMod but that probably works just fine.

A mod manager is nice to install/manage all the mods but it's not required for loading them into the game.
